Hi guys I've learned a lot of invaluable information reading from you on here. I just started my own grow using 5.2 gal airpots. Follow my sig for my journal, feedback is welcome!

I love air pots. I just harvested some blue widows out of 2 gal smart pots. Got almost a QP each with about 5 days cut off the flowering time. And they reached 3 and a half feet at maturity.

They are awesome in my DIY 21st Century F & D System, where I flood from the top using low pressure mist heads. Nutes cascade down over lava rock. I have a thread over on IC

Hello RUI Air-Potters! I have a different idea for how I want to use air pots in my ebb and flow system which I think will make the transplant into larger pots between veg and bloom super simple and allow for massive root growth. I want to see what you guys thought and maybe get some advice because this will be my first time using air pots.

I have a bunch of the 2 gallon air pots i'm going to pack full of a coco pearlite mix and water normally flooding my veg table. When I move them into the flower room I plan to have my 3X6 tray completely full of hydroton covered with a large amount of my coco pearlite mix. Here's the switch up, I'm going to place the 3 gallon air-pots in the tray without the bottom colored plastic piece so the roots can grow out the bottom of the pot and into the tray without any restriction. Then simply take the plant out of the 2 gallon pot, place it into the empty three gallon air pot in the flower tray and pack that with more of my coco pearlite mix. I'm hoping this will make the transplant into a larger pot simple, and allow the roots to easily grow out the bottom of the larger pot and take over the entire tray.

I was even thinking of just taking the bottoms out of the 2 gallon pots and placing them into the same set up in my flower tray eliminating the need to re-pot my plants because the roots can just grow out the bottom of the air pot and into my tray. I can put the bottom colored piece higher up at like 3 inches while in veg, leaving room for medium once removed and placed into the flower tray. I'll use a SCROG or SOG to help give the canopy some support and never have to re-pot them throughout the entire life cycle.

What do you guys think? Sounds pretty simple but will allow for huge root growth and massive yields.

Not sure if its been mentioned, but for my last run I topped the pots wilth a couple inches of perlite. Helps to stop leakage by transferring the water to the soil slowly. Could basically dump 2l of water into the perlite on top of a 3.2gal and it would water itself.

My good friend has been using air pots since they first came out.
He told me the other day that he cant undestand why people are still
using the regular pots. I have to say i totally agree.. If not only
for the eco friendlyness of them!!
Airprune them roots...and happy growing!!

i just progressed to the 10l's and the disks are all concave!? i don't understand why? unless the weight of the coco and plant on top might for it to bend enough to come out the bottom?!?

airpots are excellent, i just wish they weren't as messy. benefit outways the con though many times over. I'm getting a dwarf lime tree for my porch, thinking a 10L airpot for it. though it might be a bit suspect if a grower were to see it. takes one to know one kinda thing. i'm still tempted though !

i love my air pots, I actually buy some really cheap coco liners used in hanging pots and cut out a piece to place in the bottom of my airpots before i add my soil to keep any of it from falling out. Works great

Thanks to this thread I no longer plant with my Airpots upside down. This whole time I thought the closed holes were towards the bottom.... Derp

If I plan to veg from clone for 2 weeks before flowering, should I go with the 2 gallon air pots or the 3 gallon air pots? How often should I expect to water them?
