I know of MANY people killing it with Gavitas and NEVER heard of any fires. I do Know they are seriously back ordered and hard to get. They probably just don't want to wait on making a sell.
The owner and I have become good friends over the last 6 years and a lot of money. He isn't doing anything "sketchy" like that, he has my best interest in mind. They carried gavitas, and 3 customers house caught on fire(these were not inexperienced grower either, traded out atleast 4k to gavitas). He won't carry them anymore. While they might not be as bad as he says, he's never lead me down the wrong path either.

I can't justify buying it because people in CO use it. No offense to any co dwellers, everytime I have gone out the majority the bud I got from dispencery was garbage. Same with Cali. Would occasionally find some fire.He's talking about double ended lamps, not dual element lamps. Dual element have an HPS and an MH element and run together in the same envelope. They're okay, but I haven't found them to be worth the cost.
Double ended lamps are widely used in Colorado commercial mmj warehouses. That should answer your question.
I will take his word over anybody any here. Everyday of the week. Gavitas are not an option I will not use then. Plain and simple. Those were not inexperienced growers, there shit burnt down because the gavitas. They are not the only double ended bulb/ballast. This isn't a battle of gavitas. I'm asking about doubles ended bulbs in general, not gavitas.
Not sure why you think someone trading out 1ks for led needs to "wear a helmet". They side by side them 3 times before making the switch. That wasn't an uneducated purchase. I saw the flowers from the 1k and led, led destroyed the hps. No questions asked.
