dude i dont have clones, i use seeds lol which are currently in the propogator and are seedlings, i just found them wilting from damping off

i'm gonna try to salvage a couple of them with chamomile tea

Are you using Nutes or just PH Buffed water. When I grew all mine from seed I used Kick start nute but found I was burning the piss outta them so The next ones I tried I just watered with ph buffed water and didnt add nutes till the second set of leaves were cranking then they took off.
Oh and all I use is Rockwool. Best thing ever invented except for Bunnings.

well the deals here are pretty big like ten bucks (this is from my own experience buying it here and seems to be my average but some people just like to ripp people of esp if there from outa town) would buy me about 1.2 to 1.4 grams

I can only answer 4 Sydney n its about $3500 for ur upper Quaity Gear.
Rent is between $350 - $400 ish a week.
No real power restrictions.. just pay ur bills on-time.
N it comes down 2 the landlords discretion. I havnt had an inspection in over 12months of living in my current property.

a pound around byron would cost between 3 to 4 grand,,,maybe more...depends who you get it off....
and a house around there to rent will cost you a heap ((if you can find one)) we are having a bit a population growth and rent in all the major population centres...the east coast((cairns,Brisbane,syd and Melb)) and Perth is high....
I have had so many physkco landlords who thought they were running a mini banana republic..... I waited till I could buy my own place before growing indoors.... the only time I have heard of indoor growers coming undone is when they try to steal power to cover up large usage....if you pay for what you use they will 98% of the time leave you in peace...
but that said ,,I beleave that if a place is right for you then it will open itself to you and nuture your exeistense ,,ie you will find a home and work etc,,,but if you are not "meant" to be there then you wont find a way in......abit cosmic I know,,but cant help myself

I am a canadain grower looking for a new adventure , i met a bunch of cool ausies last trip in thailand espeically a close freind from byron bay that is why i asked.

I do hydro we here in BC get 1800 to 2200 for a lb so an increase to potentailly 4700 is massive and even that much more inticing.

I have noticed in australia u do rent by weeks does that mean u see the landlord every week or could i give him/her postdated cheque for say like 6 months and most liky have no worries about "inspections" or other hiccups?

I would not be stealing power but i would like to set up 5 1000 watt lights to make it worth my while, would u consider that execive? and obvicouly australia is hot and i would assume the rental houses i would be intrested in would have aircondiiotner in them, is it possible these airconditioners could manage a 5 light grow?

jats i was planning a harvest party too!!! lol i'm gonna do loads of edibles and a big bowl and loads of goodies and chill music and candles everywhere!! that outdoor grow sounbds brilliant, i'd love to have a crack on a smaller scale, i'm on the east side of things and was considering continuing out past the dandies

yoda - yeah whats happened on this one is a fungus, it's unlucky but i'm gonna treat with cham tea and cinnamon which are a really good natural way of fighting fungus. it was my first time using the prop for germ/seedling stage and i knew they would be more inclined to fung up but the dampning it supposed to show signs of thinning white stalk before they wilt, these guys looked really good and healthy and then within hours it took them down. i dont have much hope for the remaining seedlings i'm afraid. but yeah, i dont use nutes for the first two weeks, they have all the food they need in their own lil seed for the first 2 weeks, then i start with a little zyme and fish emulsion. i dont use the big bud and ozi tonic til a fair whack later

mate make sure you fence it make sure it's high as last season mine was only about 2 foot high and the kangaroos an possums just reached in and grabbed it they love it also wombats can be a worry they will burrow under and eat ya roots

What about airconditioners, they must drain massive amounts of energy when its so hot out i mean like do u set up these grows in bunkers .... how do u fight heat issues when growing indorrs under 1000 watt lights when its 35+ celsuis outside????

hey LG........ by banana republic.... I mean they live by their own rule and pay no heed to the laws of the land.... in Aus we have strong and fair tenancy laws but some people think they don't apply to them ...and come ovr sticking their noses in everything etc...these people exist in great numbers around the nth coast because it has been the centre of alternative culture in Aus since the 70's..... I think you could be lucky but I have friends who've lived in the area for years ((15/20)) and they are finding it hard to find houses...everyone wants to live there ,,,so the rents are about $200/300 per bedroom per week or more..... I don't know what Byron would have in store for you personally but you can be sure it'll be an experience.........
hint... I would rent in the byron bay industrial estate if I was you ...its still close to the beach and has a kool scene without any suburban nightmare neighbours

Great info thanks jats, I guess you just have to go by the vibe u get from the landlord, My setups are easily disabled as here in BC we have 24hour notices but if in australia landlord was to be nosy what sort of recourse could i feel from there invasion of privacy?

LOL yes im coming to visit freinds, travel and explore the buetiful country... but i have this draw to grow ever since i was young it is like a drug, the money part is great, but i love to build the setup and then see the beutiful plants suceed.... I see this almost as a new challange as i have never grown outside of canada and its something that is seeming more and more enticing

8 1000w lights is big anywhere....... in suburbia it is huge anywhere...but industrial uses that kind of power all the time so as long as the bills are paid then your fine with warehouses shops etc.... there is one thing I have thought of ...maybe the industrial estate in byron is a bit "hot" for that kind of thing... I imagine you would not be the only one doing it..... oh,,, if you can find a trust worthy person to help you move that much no probs....its a lot....and I would not organise a deal like that with someone you meet down the pub,,even for a pound.... that will be one of your main issues...moving it

i have found through experiance moving it is actually the easiest part , I have not disclosed to my close freind from byron bay what i really do but i know i for a fact he and his parents are pro marijuana and im quiet sure he could help out in that area if not in more areas when i tell him

You know to be honest i would even be happy to grow with 5 lights its not really the number im just quite suprised there are no power restrictions in australia as here in BC if u use more then 94 killowatts per day u are considered high cunsumption and subject to 24hour notices.

As for that much power, i do honestly recommend an industrial setup, most r concrete buildings which stay cool, have high roofs which will b excellent for letting ur heat out and have a loft that u can sleep in.
As for moving that much @ once, take a trip down to Sydney.. u will move it all in a day or 2 if u r willing to accept a lil less.
But id get a job lined up (even if its a shell) b4 u cum, or else border security will wonder wat ur up2 coming here with no prospects..

Sweet thank u both so much for this it has really stamped my idea of making this trip into a reality i could not have found this honest realistic information anywhere else... i hope 1 day we can meet up and smoke a j would be really amazing I plan to come in june which is ur winter. The criteria for a canadain for a working visa is so simple:

Job Prospects( which i have a few if not already set up)
And of Good Character..... Loook at my smile isnt that all the good character they need
