man are u sure its an ec meter. does it say ec meter on the box or ppm or tds?

it sounds like it may be a ppm meter and if its a cheap one it will only measure to the nearest hundred so if it says 1 with a 100 up your water is probably aroun 100ppm? thats only if its a ppm meter though find that out first

Thanks for the info.

It says EC meter on the box and EC on the pen itself.
The instruction booklet is more like a 3 step pamphlet showing where the on switch and display screen are located. (must be for the mentally challenged)
The brand is "eziTOOLS"
the web site is www.ezirange.com.au

Yea it was pretty cheap, seeing as though i'm just a closet grower I didn't think I should break the bank on it.
No solution with the pack.
Be nice if they let the customer know all of these things beforehand.
Ah well live and learn :)

I noticed the price differences and thought along the same lines.
I tried to get one down town but everywhere I went asking for an EC meter just came up with blank stares and a "whats that". So much for helping local retailers.
Might just bite the bullet and get the dearer one.
I mean if this one only measures to the nearest unit and no decimals its not gonna be much good anyways.
I looked all over the net trying to find some sort of instruction manual for this thing and nothing.
Found the odd person having the same difficulties as me but no answers.
Thanks for the prompt response guys.

yeah thats definitely an ec meter. and im guessing that the up100 means it has been x by 100 so it doesnt have to show the decimal so a reading of 01 would actually be .01 ec. still though i would get some solution and check it anyway. oh and dont take my word on that as i am just guessing based on how my old ppm meter worked it had the up100 and up10 scale thing too.

n.p deff go industrial blue lab series or if you can even better go for a industrial one made in ur city state coz there are better warranties and such ..being home made and such ......as i got both a blue lab set a local idustrial set and a eco tester 2 i know probally every hydro shopin w.a atm probally has jus gotten in decent eco 2 tsters as the last batch sucked ...........(funny thing they didnt know jack shit when it came to ph pens and one shop was actually tryna palm off fucked up eco 2 ph pens .wont state the shop tho outa respect coz i know the owners well asi do wit most shops here in perth ....at least one of them shops didnt and ive heard big drammas with the eco testers two hand held ones)they got sum fd up regulaton that they wont re-imburse youi f it fucks up...only the hydro shop from you got it from can make that decition .stupid ...but a big loophole legally in they contract with them ..basicly if they mesure ph basic the company isnt liable idiots ...coz we had majour fluctuations with several i tested but meh ..jus b carefull if buying from a shop ...is all i can say if buying eco 2 pens

hey bigzbudz, welcome mate. What nutes are you using and whereabouts are you roughly? Us C.U.N.T.s are everywhere and we might be able to give you an average local EC (mine has read 4 from the tap for years, it gets abit softer after a lot of rain and creeps up to about a 5 after long drought, pretty consistent Briz) If you spen the money on a high quality 2 part nute you can safely trust the instructions not to steer you wrong too far and if you run at half strength you will still grow mad dank, for cheap, without ever testing EC. Yes I buy nutes and good ones coz cheap shit or homemade is a little too much hassle. I run at full strength of Xml/l, always check with my bluelab truncheon and always think "why do I still bother checking?" as it is always just a little under the max EC. I do use an oversized res though, for a little advantage called "Buffering capacity". I reckon with canna or something I could do a blind grow, never testing EC but otherwise yeah, bite the bullet. Blulab make some good shit and it will last for ever(and self callibrating).
@'ome- Brother I can't sex you from here yet either. You speak like a man, but then so does my lesbian sister! :hump:
Also, I don't have a problem with anyone per se, I think that is a misunderstanding, but I will call bs if anyone talks through their arse and I will stick up for my homies:blsmoke:

Just ordered a blue lab truncheon :D $130.00
Looks quite big but that must be why they call it a truncheon, you can knock out intruders with it and it will still be calibrated.
I'm currently sweating it out on the sunshine coast, been raining here for weeks and the sun just came out yesterday, muggy as hell.
