In my experience, as well as the experience of many others, as well as the Joint Doctor, autos do not require much nutrients. They seem to burn easy and using too much veg nutes seems to mess up their autoflowering as well. Here's what I did and it seemed to work well for me. Keep in mind I grew in promix, which basically is a nutrient free medium, so if you are using something like FFOF or your own "super soil" recipe you might not even need this much. After about 2-3 weeks I fed once at 1/2 strength with veg nutes. By the next feeding they were already fully flowering and switched to 1/2 flowering nutes once a week. I think if I ever grow autos again I'm probably going to skip veg nutes all together.

i just mixed some 1/2 strength flower for mine...i agree veg nutes were kinda pointless i added 1/4 for one water and they started to burn so i just left em go

Guys i'm having a flowering issue and i hope somebody here can help me, I'm on day 30 of my grow and still no sign of flowering. Its an AFAK47 from low life seeds. It just seems to be vegging. It is a definite female and has bud sites above the branch areas and if sniffed has a nice aroma but no flower! Its supposed to be 14 days of veg and 56 days of flower. Any ideas or am i just panicking? pls help i will greatly appreciate it.

Dont ever go by what the ppl who make the seeds say. When the plants done it'll look done. If theres a problem with the plant she will tell you by her leaves and what not. So your on day 30 of your grow. 14 days of veg passed and now your 15 days into your 56 day flower cycle. Theres plenty of time stop smoking so much and find something productive to do over the next week or so and you will see a change....

I really hope your right!!! I only really noticed as someone else(cant remember who) is doing the same grow and on the same timeline as mine and his is flowering away! So panic stations set in. I've googled until my eyes are bleeding, some say switch to 12/12, some say keep it @ 18/6 as they are not light dependant others say its the seedbank. I started questioning my setup, just too many possibilities thats why i have posted here. I'm really sorry if i have jacked this thread, cheers jeff. I'll give it a week and see!

Ya know I hear (i know you have been hearing alot lmao) But most AF's grow best under 20/4 is it?

Male marijuana plants will show themselves within 17 - 20 days. About a week earlier than female plants. Remove these male plants and replace with marijuana seeds.

So waiting long is better

Shit I just want to tell everyone I meet the details. I picked up two track light fixtures at a yard sale and a three socket vanity fixture at biglots. I also got some Y socket adapters $25 total. All together I have 18 26watt(100w equivalent) and 9 43watt(150w equivalent) CFLs above my babies. they are 80% red spectrum and 20% blue. I might have more than I need but I still want more. I am constantly thinking about adding more bulbs. They just bush out all over themselves under themselves under all that light. 855 actual watts, 3150 equivalent watts.

Do I need to use mH lights for first couple weeks or just stick with HPS?

I always use my HPS from day one, mainly because I dont have a MH light. I have started them under daylight CFL bulbs also, but only when my HPS is in use for something else. I find that starting them under the blue light keeps them a bit shorter with the nodes closer together, but starting them under the HPS lets them get about 4-6" taller and they yield more as well so i just stick with that.

I have seen people do entire grows using MH lights and get phenomenal yields though, so maybe mine were just less because I used CFLs to begin with. If you have enough plants, I say start some under MH and some under HPS and see what happens. All strains react differently to different environments.

What I've started doing with my auto's is grow them under HPS with a few daylight CFL strategically placed along the sides so the plant gets a nice mix of blue and orange light.

I was going to be doing a big outdoor grow with normal strains but the plans have changed !!!

Hopefully soon i will be purchasing some auto strains, and this is were you can help me !!! - What auto strain should i purchase ( preferably reg seeds ) that i can grow OUTDOORS as i do not have a indoor setup ! ( outdoor light cycle atm is about 14/10 light ) so what strain could i grow outdoors and still yield 1oz or 2 of a plant ??

and i herd mi5 is good strain and will grow some super cali haze next grow but want to start with some easier, faster strains ?

Try the Russian rocket fuel from shortstff seeds. attitude sells them you should look at any of their (shortstuff) breeds. I think the RRF is supposed to be one of their larger breeds.

cheers yes i have looked at autos for a week straight lol !!!

all i can find that flowers fast and get good yeild is mi5 from short stuff ( grown outdoors )

outdoors? kinda defeats the point. ideal lights are 18/6 or 24/0.
