I've used this exact method here. Works perfectly.
It's not for making large amount but it makes shockingly good quality hash/oil.
I made a kief shaker, then ground up loads of old stalks and put them in, so I basically got tiny bits of stalk which I then used to thicken up the oil and make it into more of a hash.
Just make sure all the alcohol is gone, I did one a touch early once and it does make the hash taste a bit nasty.
The purer alcohol you use the better as you don't really know what the other 9% might be, I used 99% pure, medical iso.
