I have got some black pistols on the tops of some plants . . . .

Could this be frost damage ? ? ?

Yes, that's probably frost damage. I see this happen to ditchweed plants after a heavy frost, eventually the whole plant gets dark and black and die's. Any change in the leaf color or buds?
