you're my fucking hero. even if i gave you this monster sourdiesel pheno that i have, im sure you couldn't get it as fat as i do with just your cfl set up.

LOL, Yeah, us CFL'ers really take it personal. Buts yes, ive gotten amazing crops with CFL's thanks to the book called Marijuana Buds for Less: Grow 8oz. of Buds for less than $100. If you grow CFL and dont have this book YOU ARE OFFICIALLY AN R-TARD, LOL. Not really, but the book is great and packed with very good, very simple rules to follow and steps to take to maximize your CFL growing potential. (There is a sticky about the book in this section). The best thing about the book is that you can take his info and tweak it a bit to make it better. In the book he uses regular MG 3 month time release soil, 8-42(2700k) CFL's with 3 plants(no extra nutes were used). 1 Mango strain from seed and 2 Blue Dot clones from a Cali Med Dispensery. Now think if he had used 12 lights and Foxfarm Soil or even hydropnics, he could have gotten 10 or 12 oz. (maybe) from those same 3 plants. One of the biggest factors I think were his genetics. Without those good strains, I think 8oz. would be impossible. Most Impressive of all.....he goes from seed to harvest in 69 days flat. Smoking by day 75(un-cured). Harvests like that make HID growers green(no pun) with envy. All the plants were under 2 ft tall. I bought my copy of the book on Amazon and would advise all to support the author and buy it as well seeing as the Author is also a fellow RIU Member.(even thought there are other methods to obtain the book. Yo Ho Ho and A Bottle of Rum). Check this out !!!

a nl#5 - 50 days of 12/12 with about another 6 to go
the top cola seems to be quite dense, as in rock hard dense, lower buds not as dense, so just harvest main cola first, then ripen the lower buds for another week
and this was done with 78w of cfl's - that's 3 26w cfl's from start to finish

blakmask, why do you continue to antagonize people? 8oz harvest is wonderful for someone with limited space and budget. But take a look around this forum..some of these HID guys yield elbows per plant. Check out MBlaze and his journals...Gypsybush is emulating his growing style at the moment..and I would like to see CFL's replicate that grow. All I am saying is that there is a setup for every grower out there. It all depends on what your goals are. Small plants in a small space with little lights is fine for some people. Other's look at their state laws and see that the penalty is much more sever over 2 or 3 plants... so what do they do? grow 2-3 monster plants yielding a pound or more from each one. Stop trying to tell us to eat things unless it is a ganja cookie!! MMMmmm Boulder like ganja cookiE!!! I am not here to start fights just spread knowledge, Peace...
 
blakmask does talk a bit of shit, but that book was a good recommend, just went and picked it up. i plan to follow this book to a T with my next grow. making the switch from hydro to soil, utilizing the cabinet in my AeroGarden grow, linked in my signature. +rep for the book sir!

ok dudes, i think this shit is ended, and we can see that cfls are a way to go if you want low elec. bills and low heat in your grow space :).
Just look at growones NL plant-i mean 78 watts, 78 WATTS-and thats the result-looking good as grown with hps!!!!
 
Ok i agree with grow space. CFL's work, HID's work. If you wanna grow use what you can afford, who cares what anyone thinks.

Can't afford an HID or don't have the space for an hid op then go cfl.

Be it cfl or hid, have fun, and smoke on.
 
Great thread I love gfl for small space the heat ratio is way sweet and not to mention your lights dont need that extra foot which def kills stealth lol but ya some nice plants everyone :mrgreen:

Ive recently started a stealthy cfl grow in my computer desk hehe.

i am using 2 85w cfls with 2 pc fans.

im testing a bag seed atm to see what i need to improve on and if it works.

i payed next to nothing for all the equipment and im very happy with how its going. its not been planted long.

i know its not that stelthy but there is almost no noise no light leaks anymore cause i fixed the front up and mum hasnt noticed i will upgrade it as soon as i get some more money :)

Could use any information. Thanks

Last time I checked saying someone is entertaining was not an insult.

And I never said I was a super experienced grower. It was just making me laugh reading all these posts bashing HPS. I think everyone is just having fun here Shackleford, no need to get all serious bra.

my grow cabinet is 30x20x12 with one 68 watt cfl and 42watts cfl(2700k).. and have seperate veg area with two 5500k cfl, and produced some descent sized colas, dont know what the yield is but its good enough for me.. not tryng to grow pounds and pounds here, just some personal and maybe make a little dough here and there
 
I'm chilled.
I respect everybody's right to their opinion. It's fair to point out though that opinions seem to be like dirty laundry. I have a big pile of my own so I'm not likely to take on somebody else's in the near future :)

i am doing a cfl grow and am 7 weeks into flower, the sample i tasted last night says to me i will use cfls from now on, less heat less electricity more versatility i can get the lights down to the lower branches without setting the house on fire hehe. I think they are all around easier to use. Get a few of the dome shaped reflector balasts and youre good to go. Think i spent under $50 for the lighting/balast
