Can tincture be turned into oil or bubblehash

Gentleman and Ladies, Thank you for your time and help. Okay so I made a tincture and was wondering if I can freeze the tincture and pull out the mj oil? My thought was that alcohol will not freeze but the oil will. Can I just freeze the tincture and scoop out the oils?

Evaporate the alcohol,
jar in pan of water,
good ventilation,no naked flames

Is what I would do.

Long answer:
The biggest problem I see. Is that you made a tincture. That contains plant chemicals and compounds. These are not conductive to smoking.

To get around that problem. Many folks will do a real fast shake and strain. This gets (for the most part) only the trichomes and thus you have the oils and the wax's and esters that make up the trichome shell and stems.

Wintering by freezing. Will not solidify anything, other then some thickening of those esters and wax's. These are then removed by filtering through a coffee filter (unbleached please).

If your tincture is AT ALL green or dark colored....Don't try converting it to smoking...eeyuukk!

Thank you kind Sir. I will keep it as a tincture. The tincture has been curing for two weeks so I will keep it as a tincture as you said. Hey man, so can you help or provide any links that would help me understand how to make bubblehash or hash oil? Also, is it easy to make?Thank you Dr.

well, which would you want? bubblehash and hash oil are two totally different things.

Which is better? I am new to it

It might help people recomend a method if you tell them what material you are working with
Ie: an oz of cured bud
Or 1 lb of dry nasty trim with larf
Fresh frozen material.

That sort of thing

Well Charface, i usually just keep the nugs and throw my leaves away. i was hoping someone has a nice link that shows how to make hash oil and bubble hash out of both nugs as well as shake. Raider, Google would probably help me but i wanted to ask you guys since most of you do this often. I know there are many ways to do it and wanted different perspectives

The trick to making quality pilwith alcohol is the qwet method. Quick wash ethanol extract. There two things in this method that keeps it from being full of chlorophyll.

It has to be done at very cold temps. This stops the alcohol from absorbing chlorophyll very easily but you still have to limit exposure time. Hence the Quick part.

The easiest way to keep it cold enough is to use a container that can handle the low temps and use an alcohol and dry ice cryo fluid.

You might try the concentrate section if all else fails. Lots of good info there.
You might want qwiso, butane, rosin press, dry sift, ice water. It is all there

I did a Ethanol extraction awhile ago. I got the Ethanol from the local hydro shop.

Dried trim and popcorn buds and Ethanol put into freezer for a couple of days.

Put cannabis into a glass jug and just covered with Ethanol. Gently agitated for about 2 minutes.

Pored contents into a fat fryer filter like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/50-PCS-OIL-FILTER-PAPER-10-INCH-REGULAR-250-MM-CHIP-CONE-FOR-DEEP-FRYER-FRIES/172854172004?hash=item283ee95964:g:9ocAAOSwgKpZr9x6. Ones I got were about 70 microns from memory....could be wrong. (you can email company's to check).
Which sat over a glass baking dish. Gave the bag a nice big fat squeeze to remove as much liquid as possible.

Let the baking dish sit on a heat matt for the Ethanol to evaporate (took long time). Scrapped up THC oil which is now a toffee like substance.

Dab away!


Are their better ways to do it? Yes but its a nice easy start and may answer a few of your questions.
Ethanol is a grain alcohol so its safe to consume but its pretty obvious when its all evaporated.

I did an iso run when I first started
I gave the first hit to a buddy and locked his lungs up good and proper because it wasn't fully purged.

Don't be like me, do a shitload of research or stick to solvent less.

well one is full melt and the other is not. Do you want to try and dab it? smoke it? There are a ton of options but I cant help you narrow it down unless you know more about what you want. Personally, I like hash. I make it the dry ice way (not real bubblehash, I know) but start to finish takes about a half hour and then you are smoking it. Its potent, tastes really good, and gets you high as fuck.

QWET with vacuum extract and EtOH recovery for large batches.

BHO system with solvent recovery for small batches.


Dry ice hash for quick processing to concentrate.
