Zero carbon emissions by 2050 or we're dead.

Simple fact

But I think the barn door was left open too long & it now will be impossible to close.

Look at the graph below & see the slope & rapid change in temperature which is dramatic & sobering.

And we have to attain 0 in 38 years.

1648346767968.png

We have to REMOVE the carbon in the atmosphere, not simply stop producing it. (gee, wouldn't it be nice to have some fucking trees to cleanse the air/Oh, that's right, we cut them all fucking down) :(

I pity the future generations because I think these catastrophic weather patterns are here to stay

I hope I'm wrong

Extreme weather shifts are the new norm. In my younger days I spent a lot of time in the UP of Michigan, the area I was in got around 12' of snow a year. Just saw that same area got 25' and it's snowing this weekend, and snow fall in the state has been decreasing for decades.

why is Colorado having so many wildfires lately? i was thinking about moving there but with that shit going on, i would be better off just moving back to Washington state. its been 10 years since i last lived in Washington State
so i am curious if it rains less now than it did back then.

I live in Connecticut and this winter it only snowed twice, once around 12'' & the other maybe 4''.

It also was above average temps, except for a "Polar Vortex", which I never knew such a thing existed until last year, when we had one & the temps dropped to below zero.

Hardly any snow in New England this year, which is very weird,

I actually like this change (fuck snow) but I know it's not good.

I was thinking the other day about all the events I witnessed/existed in, and how many were significant & destined to be at least a whole book or two trying to explain/understand this period of time in American History.
We experienced war, assassinations. race riots, lot's of sex/drugs & rock & roll & an pandemic, the Capitol being attacked, Trump, and now are witnessing these fucked up weather patterns that are global, not just the US & that's very scary.

Shit

I'm so sick to fucking death of calamity, all I want is 2 years in a row of peace & no bad news.

Is that too much to ask?

But I know I'll never see it in this country/life

Fucking impossible.

Fucking sad

Well there were a few good things

Best acid ever & free love & some of the best music ever written.

In my opinion the decline of the GOP/USA really started with Nixon.

He was their Golden Boy, a true representative of the true face of America, the patriotic/God fearing/noble/honest/sincere/conservative/Protestant white man

Not some long haired/hippie anti-war activists that run around smoking pot & having sex with each other (yup, did that & it was fun :) )

It was the beginning of that line that was being drawn, not one that was based on race/religion, but one that was in a way a generational divide.

Kids didn't like the elders & the elders didn't like the kids

And Nixon exploited that magnificently .

But then Watergate, and all the corruption/lies/racism/bigotry, etc.,etc.,etc inherent in the Republican party exploded onto the scene.

Yup, Nixon started the ball rolling & the Gipper fine tuned it, prepping in a way for the next bullshit artist in a long line of shitheads, culminating in Trump.

Think about all the Republican presidents we've had since Nixon
How would you describe them?
Name something positive they have done
Any fucking thing
Kinda hard ain't it?
And we elect them basically 50% of the time & they fuck up/Dem's get elected/fixes Republican fuck-ups/get voted out of office/Republicans get elected/fuck shit up again.........

Repeat again for time eternal it seems, over & over again, never changing.

And this Nation wonders what is wrong with us, why so much division?

Simple

We never learn & data shows that Americans are dummies (just look around you)

Side note - 38% of Americans believe it's Biden's fault for the high gas prices/inflation, not the Pandemic.

Headline, NY Post yesterday reporting on Harvard's latest poll....

Trump would beat Biden by 6 points, Harris by 11 in 2024 race, new poll shows

Fucking morons

Fucking tragic, isn't it

Anyway, it's time for a tune & this should fit

Sad story about this song.

I remember the day this happened & I was with my father in the living room watching Walter Cronkite on our cutting edge B&W TV, and he was sitting in HIS chair (envision Archie Bunker) and this story comes on & I say that really sucked & he say's

"Good, they got what they deserved"

It was at that moment hearing him say that about 4 kids being essentially murdered by soldiers that my mind was made up.

He's a fucking asshole

I had my suspicions, but now I knew for sure

That moment I'll remember forever.

Ok, I'll shut up :)

Tune time (suitable I think)

Not climate change, just weather at this time of year. I was checking some news and saw that we were in it. Shoot, we just melted away half our snow from a winter with the most snow we had in decades. For our American friends, a foot to two feet. Hope no ice storm like we had a couple of years ago and the power was out for days.

Environment Canada
Environment Canada is warning of a major storm coming to southern Manitoba this week that has the potential to be the worst blizzard in decades.

Environment Canada predicts snowfall accumulations of 30 to 50 centimetres by Friday morning. However, in the higher terrain of western Manitoba and the western Red River Valley snowfall totals could reach 80 centimetres.

Environment Canada is advising people not to plan to travel as “this storm has the potential to be the worst blizzard in decades.” The weather agency said Manitobans should stock up on supplies and medications, and should expect power outages.

Weather conditions in southern Manitoba should improve by Friday, although storm cleanup could last into next week.

Public Safety Canada encourages people to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit.

Fuck yea
Build more of the motherfuckers or we are fucking/the Planet is DEAD, if we continue to rely on Fossil fuel.
France produces over half of its energy from Reactors
That shite about what do we do with the spent rods/they (reactors) aren't safe
So, what is the alternative?
Already the electrical generation in the West is being cut due to drought (lack of water in reservoirs)
We are at the fucking at the edge of the elimination of anything that breaths oxygen on Earth in 100 years.
Fact/no doubt about it (I, me myself, having observed/read about what we actually are, like not some fucking religious bullshit that all they talk is shit about they're anticipation of a Glorious afterlife, surrounded by everything you ever dreamed/wanted/never fucking got :)
(I wouldn't mind the 12 Virgins though :) )

Mankind is divided into hundreds & hundreds of, let's say Tribes/Cults that basically think they themselves & only them, no other Tribe, is as smart as they.

Where have we come, lets say from the Pharoses, 3500 BC, or from the actual beginning of time, 0000 AD?

Except for a few, actually a couple of thousand bright individuals, we're dumb as fuck.

Fucking gorillas in some ways are more advanced in a Social/Supportive/Caring Enviromint than humans (they don't kill each other for example)

So now, the ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD HAS TO GO TO ZERO CARBON by 2050?

Fat fucking chance

Mankind is fucking doomed

Bet on it :(

Good tune time :)

Yup, I love this band (1 more)

Elon & Jeff are going to create Habitats on the Moon, going price to be considered is around, let's say, $150 million per, & I'll bet they do it & make a tidy sum in the process.

Wanna bet?

It helps being old. I used to get mad when Daddy would half ass something, then say, it will last as long as I do. At least us older folks can say the world will last as long as we do. Maybe.
Did you ever think that because you were born, just you, you would be the cause of the decline of America/Earths Destruction?
The thought has crossed my mind.
I was born in 1956, one of the few years we weren't at war (except McCarthy's war against the Film makers/Gay's & the ever present (God damn it/why the fuck did we ever bring them lazy Negros here/should'a left them in that shithole Africa)
But the shit really started in 1963 & we can use a Dead Kennedy as a fucking marker for the decline of America (look at the stats/wealth disparity/the attack on Unions/Organized Labor/Newark being burnt to the ground along with Detroit & Watts
Fucking Icons of the best that a Human can be, MLK &RFK, like JFK, got bullets in the head.
Assassinations/Race riots/War, yup, it was wonderful being a kid in the 60's in the US, right @injinji ?
And people wonder why that was the begining of the counter-culture/drugs/Rock & Roll & crazy sex (before that fucking curse AIDS)
They drove me towards them at least
I had to fucking escape from the fucking madness.
Yup, & that I did.
1st joint when I was 12 & by the end of freshman year in a Catholic monster pit called Stepinac in White Plains, NY
I had ingested every drug known to man, trying to get that perfect buzz.
I don't think it ever happened, except when I was lucky to get a ball of some Nam opium that came over with a friend who actually was a Marine that fought in Da Nang (nobody remembers that though anymore/Semper Fi :) ) ( Oh yea, he drank himself to death/this was before such a thing called PSTD was even a diagnosed illness)

Yup, ever since I was born the World was doomed

Plague/pestilence/drought/floods/Trump & the eminent demise of life on Earth, all because I was born.

Maybe I am the Anti-Christ?

Who the fuck knows anything anymore.

All I know is that at this moment (sorta/took a break) that I was watching this again for like the 13th time (each viewing I see more :) )

Best scene ever :)

Bye

They will make money hand over fist. In the process i hope they figure out long-term life support. Currently space travel is a bit like renting a motorhome. The map of places where you can pump out your bilge and fill your tanks is worth gold.
