The 3 reservoirs in the upper Colorado river that are to release water are all low already, it's only going to raise lake Powell by 3 feet.

Scientists have also figured out through research that at the time of all these reservoirs construction the Colorado river basin was in a above average rain/snow period. So all their original calculations were overly optimistic and now we are in a historic drought, Lake Mead may be dead pool next year.

The Ogallala aquifer which is one of the worlds largest is being emptied quickly, especially the part under Kansas. The new wells are so deep and expensive that only large corporate farms can afford to drill them, all the smaller family farms are seeing their wells go dry and they can't afford the new wells, Kansas is the biggest wheat producer in the country.

Man made altering of a climate system we don't fully understand sounds like russian roulette to me and a repeat of how we screwed the climate in the first place.

Yea, the salt water into the clouds is kind of scary. But there has been some headway made on CO2 capture. It's not cost effective yet, but time will tell.
