No you wouldnt need any coco specific nutes... just regular hydro nutes ( VermiCrop actually recommended organic nutrients for those who are into that sort of thing... Earth Juice 5 part system is what he says works great on the CocoNot) -this is another reason it sounded easier.
I heard that some of the old school breeders have been using this redwood type medium for years now and prefer it over coco... but I have never looked into it or saw any products like that until now.... Only truth and time will tell how well it actually works.

Hmm, does sound easier for sure if that is the case. Think maybe you should start a coconot thread Jberry since it sounds like you're gonna run with it? And that way we can get back to coco in this one as well? If you haven't already been working on it of course. Wouldn't be surprised.

Okay, perhaps I will start a CocoNot thread. I just got back from talking to the Vermicrop rep for the second time and got I his phone number so that he can answer any questions along the way... He also kicked down 5 more bags of CocoNot 
I was also fortunate enough to get my hands on Cutting Edge Solutions new and unreleased Organic line of nutes (Sonoma Gold Grow, Sonoma Gold Bloom, Solar Gaia, Sugaree, G-Rex, and T-Rex) and I decided I will be using them on the CocoNot plants.
One downfall for the coconot is that it doesnt sound like its a great idea to reuse it, although he said it could be done if the correct steps were taken... I could tell he didnt think it was a good idea but he wanted me to know i probably could if i really wanted to.
I will post a link to the CocoNot thread when I get around to starting it.... Okay, thats all... everyone can get back to real coco talk now.

Hey what the FUCK is coco not? I saw it in NWG but I have no idea what the hell it is...
I love coco, And this maybe one of the stupidest things Ive ever said on this site, but I am thinking maybe spidermites may be related to coco, Because I am 100% sure that spider mites live in coconut trees.. just a thought. all though they maybe flushed and all you are using a natural plant to herb, you may be inviting pest...

Like I said this maybe stupid but I have a buddy that owns a green house that sells plants and he sells coconut plants, And he told me that spidermites go crazy on the coconut tree's.. Worse then any other plant that he carries

Knocking on wood before I even say this..but...
I have been through a few coco grows, not a lot..but I haven't had any mite issues at all. Gnats...hell yeah. Then again I know a few other people who grow in coco and one of them did just loose a ton of plants to mites. If they like Coconut trees then I could indeed see how coco coir itself may carry the little buggers.

Nah, I do not think that it is really possible for the mites or anything else to survive the production process. When they are getting ready to process the coco they will store the whole coco nuts, husk and all, in a netted off section of ocean shoreline and they let them soak in the salty ocean water... This makes it easier for them to rip the husk from the Coco. The water alone would probably wash any pest away, plus they use a inner layer of the coconut so no mites should be present there anyhow. This process would surely kill anything in the coco... In addition to that, almost every coco manufacturer steams their coco at super high temps to sterilize it and kill any harmful pathogens... this would also kill any pests or mildew. Plus I imagine that the bags sit in warehouses,cargo ships, ect. for months and months if not years... the mites would need a food source but their eggs would not and their eggs can stay dormant for up to 3 years.
Mites are super common this time of year due to the rain slowing and the temps rising... the mite eggs stay dormant in cold wet climates but they hatch and flourish when things warm up and surface temps reach 82-83 degrees F.

i feed mine 6 times a day, each feed about 3litres of water on a timer and run to waste. ive done grows with 1 to 3 times a day and i there is a huge difference in yield.

sorry about that. i grow in 13 gallon pots. with a 600watt hps on each plant and a 1000watt md between each plant. i veg for 2 months and i fim them. during veg i run the lights 20/4 feeding every 4 hours from lights on. i run my nutes at half stength during veg and then when i switch to 12/12 i go to full strenght. i also run canna pk during flowering. i dont flush at all through out my grew, i used to flush once a week but i took jberrys advice and its made a huge a difference in yield.

hey JB, i had this question when i first read this post, but didnt get around to asking. but when would you say that it would be a good time to apply the pk13 ive tried it in the 5th and 6th week with good results, but i seem to have pretty much the same, not better, but pretty much the same result when i dont use any. the bottle says use only once per cycle, so would you say maybe the third week would be a good time to give it to them? please explain, if you dont mind. Thanks.

Every stain is different, but after a lot of experimenting, I have found that I get the biggest yields when I use the PK shortly after the first signs of flowering around week 2 1/2 - week 3... but honestly I can always see them swell up after i use it, regardless of when i use it...
A lot of the swelling from PK is water weight but some of it remains after drying.... I personally start with the PK13/14 but I continue to use some sort of PK product throughout the rest of flower up until week 7.
Every strain is different, so find your "pk window" and hit it hard.

hey jberry whats your take on canna boost, i remember readying months ago somewhere that u thought i wasnt worth the price. i only run my standard coco nutes and canna PK during flower. canna also claims that it can shave a week off your flowering time. if this is true to me its just worth it for that caz it means 1 extra grow a year. can you recomend anything else that would increase the size of my yield during the flowering phase?

Yea it actually does speed photosynthesis. When I used it in the past it did cut about 5 days off the harvest time... when I used the boost and Co2 I was able to harvest about 7-10 days earlier then i do without the boost and co2... It also helps with flavor a bit and would be good for someone that has less than idea conditions (low light, ect...). For the person that has totally idea conditions, it just wont work as well.
I would suggest using it as a foliar as long as you can without risking mold... The rhizo and the boost both work very well as foliars and then it doesnt cost you much to use them either.
