Here are pictures of two little ninja sisters
One is a hydro ninja and the other is a coco.

After following this thread and some advice from Zen Master, the coco baby is alive.
So far I can tell that coco is MUCH easier than bubbleponics.

Coco forgives the mistakes I do with no accurate % of nutrients etc.
Also by "dipping" its bucket into a big one I ensure bottom feed and coco drains very well.
So far me and the coco ninja enjoy the product very much.

The second ninja is in a bubbleponics. Very sensitive to any nutrient changes, less tolerant to mistakes, but still doing very good I think.

Nice, the one in coco looks like its a bit bigger, and the leaves are standing out a bit more. Did they go out at the same time?

Peace!!!

ooops. sorry about that last one. im not an expert user on RIU. mistake from a search. However, I do want to ask about this, as some of my searching is turning up fruitless. :P Do I need to pre-water the coco? (which i was gonna put 2ml/gal of Canna A+B to the water that i would moisten the coco with). Seems counter-intuitive to put the clones straight into dry coco. I know not to flush the coco with reg water like you would when in soil (which is what im moving away from), but when first transplanting clones, do you need to moisten up the coco w/ some pre-treated A+B filtered water (ran through a smallboy actually)?

I am doing my first step into coco now. got the A+B, Rhizo just for now, since my girls are about 10 days old. Unfortunately I've only got a 1Kw Metal halide for them. no floro. i should have the 1K about how far from them?

Just to clarify, so I can minimize mistakes : first 7 days or so after transplanting (from rockwool/grodans), just water+Rhizo, like, 10ml/gal of rhizo right? then move that up to 15ml/gal through first week of bloom - si?

lets talk about Cal/mag - im using tap (ran through smallboy), but thats all i have for the moment - when do I need to introduce cal/mag into the equation? now? later in veg? in bloom only? or the full cycle? I picked up some Magi-Cal. Do i need this, or does Canna make up for it already? I think I've read yes & no on RIU? Please confirm.

Thanks!!

p.s.. I really dig these coco threads. Zen & Jberry rock.

[UPDATE: DOH. sorry wetting coco answer here. courtesy of jberry :) https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/225396-official-canna-coco-nutrients-thread-26.html#post3543633

and cal/mag here.. man. im having to really go back pages for these. hope these help sum1 : https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/225396-official-canna-coco-nutrients-thread-25.html#post3529956

Some Updates with Coco.

2 Casey Jones under a 600w HPS in a 2.5x4.5 ft hut. Bloom Day 21.

For boosters I am doing.

Week 3-8 Bud XL
Week 3-4 Hydroplex
Week 5 (3 days) Top Shooter
Week 6-8 Shooting Powder

What do you fellows think about the line up?

Also what kind of yield do you think I could pull of with this one.

Chem D, Grape Romulan, Grapefruit Haze. Bloom Day 13

GFH has very low stretch. Lets see how it turns out, it has great chances of being a keeper.

G Rom and Chem D both stretch a hefty bit, but as far as vegging goes I like G Rom more than Chem D, CD more lanky.

@bender420

this is an excellent time for me to ask something (as I am trying to QA on a lot of things I was "taught" to make sure I'm understanding correctly). On the second image I think? Im curious if you've got too many small internode bud sites that aren't getting enough light through the top of the canopy, and are just a) gonna be worthless kibble, and b) pulling necessary energy away from other primary bud-sites.

not criticizing, just want to clarify my own understandings. they look good btw. the stalk on that G-Rom looks pretty hefty. How high is that plant?

Thanks.

Absolutely correct. I lollipopped them pretty crazy about 10 days ago. They are ready for their final session of lollipop soon. One thing is that no matter what you do there is always going to be some popcorn so at some point you otta decide to let it go, I do a final lollipop at week 3-4.

wait, so after raising the underbrush about what, 9 - 10" off the bottom, you start working your way up week by week from the lowest bud-site/kibble, on up till how far? I was told once that you want like 3 - 4 primary bud sites at the end of the branch, and everything else gone. I get the rational behind it, and think it sounds right, but what is the general consensus on this?

also, I have been reading here where people state, I have 200ppm of Cal/Mg - how are you reading JUST the Cal/Mg property? is this just ratio formula from the bottle label - or am i missing something? I've let my Hanna PH meter sit in not a covered up buffered solution. I flaked cus I keep fergettin' that GH buffer 7.0 sh!t evaporates. anyhoo. I was gonna go get an EC/PPM/PH tranche tomorrow. I have a ppm meter, but no way to see how to calibrate it. The Hanna PH meter works fine - I hope. Will have to check with the buffer I grab tomorrow. But I have no EC meter, and the store doesnt have just a single EC meter. There's a conversion somewhere. I am transplanting my first coco grow and just wanna dial stuff in asap. a lil nervous.

[update - here's that conversion chart. guess i dont need to buy a new wand. http://www.gardenscure.com/420/attachments/hydroponics/181763d1160775312-printable-ec-ppm-cf-conversion-chart-ppm-ec-c.jpg ]

Thanks a lot fellows for the props. Really appreciate the input everyone.

Quick Update

Casey Jones - Bloom Day 25 [PK boost started on Day 18]

Chem D, GFH, G Rom - Bloom Day 15 [PK boost started on Day 13]

For the early PK boost, I used a weak booster, Hydroplex Bloom Maximizer. Now that the flowering is initiated I am backing off the hydroplex a bit. I will do the top booster around week 5-6. Then comes the shooting powder.

Casey Jones

Chem D, GFH.

Quick question for the coco experts. Do you fellows notice a decrease in flowering time in coco.

I have noticed that in my grow, also a buddy of mine raiderfan noticed the same.

My OG and his PK are both meant for 65-70 days, yet we both chop earlier, around day 56.

I took my OG to day 70 and it was garbage compared to the OG at day 53-56.

What do you fellows reckon.

ive been hunting through the pages but cant find a good answer to my question.

So how does one start from seed to Coco?

Do you just germ the seeds, and drop them straight into a pot with coco? Do you start the nutes from the very first watering? How does transplanting to bigger pots work?

Thanks all!

Yup just drop them in and start feeding with 1/8-1/4 strength nutes. Once root bound in the pot or cup you germinated the seeds in, just transfer them to a bigger pot.
