If you can get the state to work with you, you can section 8 those sorts of buildings depending on where you are. Fix it up pretty good, get a good landscaper.
If the state sees you are trying to be a good landlord to people in need, they pay good rates on time, every time. And you can usually negotiate handy man terms.

I think the literal translation is "appeal to ignorance". Ignorant rant is good. In the context of my comment, I meant it was one of several kinds of logical fallacies that dipshits use to browbeat in a disagreement.

Once a person has been executed the state has no interest in proving itself wrong. It will also be incredibly resistant to helping a private person gain access to information. In an honest debate, the person making the claim should be able to prove their case. Instead Taco appeals to the lack of proof as proof, a logical fallacy.

I have. They are easy to work with. They will give you a set of guidelines for the shape the house needs to be in and will come inspect it.
The one I have was already on section 8 when I bought it.

He's not as bad as some. Sometimes he gets on his high horse and defends extreme positions that are obviously wrong. I think he's a wannabe lawyer. Like the time he said that a bumper sticker telling trump voters to fuck themselves was unlawful, not protected speech and the Sherrif had every right to threaten legal actions. Even the Texas prosecutor in the district where the kerfluffle went down said the officer who threatened the driver with legal actions was wrong. Citing references from real lawyers didn't sway him.

he was busting on some dude the other day about their vs there and really giving him shit about learning english.

I did for a duplex I owned in MA. I've since sold it.
But it worked out well for me. Got paid on time every month, and the tenants were pretty nice folks. I treated them with respect. They treated my property in kind.

I'm pretty sure if someone looks through my posts I as very pro death penalty.
Over the last five years I've changed my mind. In certain cases I would be ok with it. Caught red handed, no shadow of doubt.
I've been watching a lot of specials and documentaries about innocent people going to prison and death row.
Here in the states cops can lie to you about having evidence and interrogate you for hours on end. They coerce confessions.
Its was England, I don't remember, they don't allow the police to lie or long interrogations. A lawyer and someone else is allowed to be with you.
Older cops fought the idea fearing convictions and the amount of cases solved would go down. The opposite actually happened.
There is a serious miscarriage of justice when law enforcement when you force an innocent person to confess. First an innocent person goes to jail and the true perpetrator goes free.
I can't see how anyone can be so obtuse about it. Some people really think police are infallible. That's not the case. Some make mistakes. Worse yet, some are vile people. Some people have never seen the bad side of police. If witnessed and been the victim of bad police. I've had the prosecutor look at me and tell me I'm guilty and seeking the max unless I plea out over lies. I also had to drop some serious money to stay out of jail. I know how wrong the justice system can be.

Sure. Some on section 8 will be bad renters. That's with everyone though. That's what insurance is for. If someone tears your shit up you make a claim or chalk it up to the cost of doing business. You don't go violate tenants rights.
