Controversial idea about race and policing in America

You don't see the judge on a registration ticket. It's a fix-it ticket. He's lying.
Bull shit. My daughter overlooked renewing registration. If you are going to fight the ticket, you're going in front of a magistrate to do it. She ultimately paid no fine as they gave her enough time between hearings to send the $40 in and get current.

How do you fight a late payment?

I work with black prisoners and they confess that they didn't know what a turn signal was for--and didn't understand that you aren't allowed to drive 100 mph on the interstate. They've admitted to tailgating and weaving in an out of slower moving traffic (which will alert a patrol cop all of the time). They've also admitted to not really having any driving lessons, and most weren't aware that they needed to get a driver's license (which inevitably led to their arrests on other charges) before driving a car. I asked all of them about their initial arrests, and they all said that it happened at a "routine" traffic stop.

Of all the La. state prisoners I work with, 98% of them are African American, and most are in the system for drug possession. The other 2% are Latino. This is Louisiana and there aren't very many white prisoners in the county systems. I can't say that about Angola, however. The Latino prisoners--all of whom are American citizens--had driver's licenses.

I understand that many cops out there pull over black and brown drivers based on racial profiling. But to minimize this, it'd be helpful if blacks took some formal driving lessons before getting out on the road. Of all the prisoners I'm working with now, not one received the talk from their parents or elders about how to interact with the police and how to drive so you don't get pulled over. Not one.
Its not a black person phenomenon. Its a retarded Southern thing. I see everyone here in N.C. driving like idiots. Look at the videos MuyLocoNC used to post. The only people with any sense driving are Northern and Western transplants.

Everyday I have to break hard because some idiot decides to turn right at a moments notice.

Tiny education budgets. Nuff said.

She didn't have to. The magistrate let it slide since she had no other record and causes no problems.

Sometimes they let little things slide, she didn't rob a bank.

Now she's going to think it's ok to put things off. Not a very good way to teach someone a lesson. This is why there is a whole generation of entitled youth.

Good point. Doubtful that he possesses the nads to say "no" though.

His blind obedience to his masters system fucked him out of $50. Pity.
You talk a lot. But I think your 'blind obedience to your masters' probably keeps you out of prison.

People like yourself are generally pretty 'cunty' individuals.

Go preach your BS out in the real world instead of the safe internet and they'd stretch your asshole hard and fast.

Now, what words would you like 'defined' for you today?

Or maybe she just forgot to renew. I was remodeling her house at the time, she didn't have internet for a while.

The only thing she was 'entitled' to was college as I offered to pay her way through if she could maintain a C average. She graduated with a 3.45 QPA so I was satisfied.

I have a calendar hanging on my wall. I write down all the things I need to remember on it. Don't need no college for that. ;)

You can run your life anyway you see fit, and I'll do the same.

You seem to have more problems than we do, but we have a more basic outlook. I have never been an advocate of 'fast money'. I have a working man's mentality. It has served me just fine.

I'm not the one who can't even pay my car registration, am I? ;)
