Well Beech it is weird, but they do seem a bit smaller that I would
have expected at nearly eight weeks, and from plants that got a huge,
many month, Veg period.

When I started this grow the 5 gallon buckets were fully drenched and
the plants did not need as much food/water yet. Then, over the next few
weeks I did not water to runoff.

I did not realize how much less water I was giving them, as the plants
did not show any signs of hunger or thirst.

Around week 6, about 10 days ago, I thought to hit the ladies again when
I fed them, to see if I got run off. I was surprised that I ran of of mix
before I saw runoff.

The next day I started giving them plain water until I saw some runoff.

I have been more generous to them since, and I am hopeful that my
babies will fill in better.

Do not get me wrong....they are beautiful.

The Qrazy Train, Somango, and Chem 4 OG are all already amazing, and
the yield of the Blue Cheese and Deadhead OG are large, esp the BC.

They might like two more weeks, and I will likely give it to them.

I will probably not exceed 9 weeks.

Take care,

JD

I have always liked to give them more time verses less time. Seems like every time I hold out that last little bit they pack on more weight. Do you like to fed molasses at the end?

Yes, I have been adding molasses to the Botanicaire line.

I also added the Big Bud then Overdrive, along with B-52, according to their schedules.

I am switching to water, as I will be starting week 9 this week.

I will chop at week 10 unless I am very wrong.

Take care,

JD

Sounds like things are winding down nicely for you JD. Do you use Clearex (or any flushing agent)? Also do you give plain water, or do you still add molasses? I flushed my girls at day 56 looking to harvest day 70 or so. The last few days have me thinking they won't go that long, looking more like day 65 or so. I want to give them one more fill of plain water then let them dry out for the next 4-5 days.

The above describes my path very well.

I am at 56 in two days.
I am switching to water now.
I plan to allow as long as 70 days,
but am thinking that 63 will do.

I hope that your cycle finishes well.

I know that feeling.

This is actually the hardest part, for me, as the smell is the strongest,
and there just seems to be some tension that builds as the harvest approaches.

Thanks goodness I have plenty, or there'd be sampling happening.

Take care,

JD

Hello all,

I took some shots right after lights on yesterday evening and a few more right
before lights off this morning.

The Qrazy Train is very near ready:

The Chem 4 OG is just lovely:

Somango is also very nice:

and a close-up:

The Deadhead OG buds are smaller, but all over the place:

A little background:

I have one 5'X5' tent and one closet to grow with.

The tent has one 600 W HID lamp and two Kessil 350 LEDs.

The closet has four very long T-8s, attached to a mobile false ceiling.

I flower in the tent.

This means that I must get a lot done in the closet.

I will generally have in the closet the mothers, the new seedlings, and the new
clones that I have taken from the seedlings. The Mothers stay, the clones
grow up, and the seedlings get flowered.

I have also grown out mothers and taken a fleet of clones, but I am working with
at least 19 new breeds (inc phenos) and so I cannot flower multiple clones of
any one breed.

Here is the closet, in transition, as I am about to take 38 clones from the 19 new
breeds. (10 of them for the 5 Cannaventure Mothers Mix alone):
IMG_1583.jpg

You cannot see the right wall, but the old mothers are on the left, the seedlings are on
the right, with their clones (soon) to be in the middle.

The various breeds....recall:

Skywalker OG Kush
Kosher Kush
Headband
Purple Wreck
OG Kush
OG #18
Cannaventure Mothers Mix X 5 (reg)
LA Confidential
Sensi Jack Herer X 2 (reg)
Sensi Blueberry (reg)
Cannaventure Purpleberry BX X 2 (reg)
Blue OG

I am seeing all sorts of different growth patterns.

Recall that some of the seedlings had a slow start because of a soil difference.

Well, now they are all getting going.

The LA Confidential and the Sensi breeds have very lovely structure.

Here is a Skywalker vs. Kosher that I posted elsewhere:

The SWOG has better structure IMHO.

BTW, one of the Herer's is triploid.

Got some very nice strains going! I miss when I had that many lol. I think at one point I was up to like 35 strains when I had my garage indoor going and the outdoor. Gets crazy at times, but its so fun to see the differences in structure and smell. Until I started growing I really didn't get the difference. Weed was weed right lol. Ah to be ignorant. Anyway, the flowering ladies look simply amazing. Hold in there, they get better daily at that stage!

All of cups needed have been prepared, and clones of the more mature
seedlings have been taken:

I am actually kinda worried about the Kosher Kush. It is just exploding, and
this plant will not be in the flowering tent for at least a couple of weeks.

I need to use my tent for at least the first few days of the drying of the
current Crop too.

I might have to cut it back, just to get it in line with the rest of the plants.

The third node is very strong. Hmmmm....Well, no action for now.

Onward and upward,

I'd heard that the Kosher was a grower. I'll have to let my buddy know, he just cracked his about a week ago.

Maybe top and train her out mainline style, maybe even shoot for 4 or 8 if you have the time.

Looking forward to following along, been wanting a piece of the CC 3-peater. You going to start a new journal or keep rolling here? Peace

Great ideas SS.

I also thought about going mainline, but this girl got tall, and
the first really strong node is still...damn....8-12" from the soil.

I can bury it well. I expect to use a 5 gallon bucket for it.

Hmmm...I would want to xplant this one sooner. (I cannot do
this for all of them, as the buckets would never fit into the closet ;0)

I will think about this.

I am also thinking about buying another, smaller, tent to use for
specialty Vegging. (I also have dreams of doing a six month
breed, like Old Timer's Haze...and pollen collection in time ;0)

I add this because even going to 2 gallon pots, as an interim solution,
will need more space than my closet offers.

As to threads, I will start a Crop #5 thread. This one morphed
from #3 into #4 because #3 was somewhat aborted.

I will post a thread here, and will update my signature as well.

Take care,

JD

P.S. The buds just keep getting bigger. The big feed I gave in
weeks 5 and 6 (ish) really paid off. What is more is that the leaves
are also saying wait. I will be using the scope soon.

I did it.

This actually turned out to be the perfect time to try this. (great idea SS)

I say that because the last time that I was stuck waiting for the tent, I had to
just give the ladies a crew-cut....twice. The result is a blizzard of not-gigantic
buds. (I will not say "small"....they are too sweet ;0)

The Qrazy Train, Blue Cheese, and AK-47 still made main colas. This is largely genetic.

Week 9 begins today. This may be there last week. I am checking the trichs, but all
other factors are saying "not yet".

Take care,

JD

Hello,

To anyone interested, I will not be making threads in Indoor-Soil for my grows, going forward.

This is still the place that I will ask and answer questions, but the pure "see what I'm doing"
stuff will be in my Journal.

It is here:
Javadog's Rolling Thunder

Take care,

Oh, this is where I live. I will be around. I just think that the Indoor-Soil Forum
is best used to discuss cultivation questions.

Journals are for showing off. :0) ...and, honestly, I hope that you will check out
the Journal on occasion.

We are in week 9 today. The plants can be taken pretty much at any time, but I am
going to wait a couple more days.

All of the tops are falling over now. Density! Even the Qrazy Train, which had the
strongest limb structure, started to topple in the last couple of days.

I will try to take some decent shots at harvest. That is a tricky time for me.
