Decarbing when recipe uses high heat?

Question for the iron chefs, when you cook/bake a recipe (say brownies for 45 minutes or cookies for 15 minutes) the heat required is fairly high (higher than the 240-250 Decarbing uses), would you still need to decarb your weed?

1. If so, would the amount of time decarbing change? Like if the recipe is 325 at 13 minutes should I then decarb for 17 minutes to equal 30 total?
2. Should I stick to recipes that don’t use heat over 230 if I decarb?
I’m a light smoker these days but I want to cook/bake for my friends who are heavyweights and they don’t seem to feel the cookies I bake. Personally I have a single bite and am floored for 6-8 hours lol. Using the magical butter machine, 2 cups butter and an ounce of bud.

thanks in advance!

Decarboxylation must occur before cooking, baking, or extracting oil from the cannabis plant in order to reap the benefits of activated cannabinoids like CBD or THC
Yes

I think the internal temperature of a brownie will be lower than 230 for much and maybe most of its cooking time. At least until the liquid turns to steam.
Again yes. Y'all have good advice.

The ingredients inside a brownie insulate the canna oil. So your safe for the time, and temps it takes to cook brownies. Decarbing before cooking in a recipe makes for consistent edibles. 240F for 40 minutes is the "standard" for decarbing.

Don't quote me on this, but what I've learned is to decarb at 250° for 30 minutes
for maximum THC production and any longer than that begins the conversion to
CBD and CBN, etc. I hope I got that right. I don't know tho, never really done it.

Good stuff. I wonder if there is a place that has this information readily available?

Huh? I think you're posting in that place, or were you just joking, or what?
You're being sarcastic, ain't ya?...
Yeah, u been here since 2012, so you're joking or something. Well, excuse me.
The guy asked so I just told him what i've been told. Sorry, jeeze. Oh and you
know fadedawg, so that's probly best place for "readily available info". But I
really shouldn't even dignify your sarcasm with any reply at all. Really.

There are more than one way and temp/time to decarb. For most of us using and oven or toaster oven it's usually recommended 240F for 40 minutes.

For me personally I use a Nova fx. They work well and almost odor free. I have used it a lot for the past 3 years. But now there are other cheaper alternatives that takes the guess work out of it.

Here is a link that explains decarbing more.

Bad advice up there. No need to decarb prior to baking cookies or brownies as the oven temps will do that just fine.

If decarbed first then more THC will break down during baking if the decarb is complete already.

I give a friend keif to bake cookies with and she gets baked off her ass from one cookie and I didn't give her a lot of kief for 3 dozen cookies.

If you are making budder for baking with then that process will decarb it half way and the baking will more than finish that.

We used to throw a half cup of ground up fan leaves into a brownie mix and get stoned just fine. Never even knew about decarbing back then. Even smoked the damn things. :)

I disagree strongly. Perhaps you could provide a link(s) that support your opinion?

I don't have any links but do have a diploma in chemistry and have researched enough about decarbing to know that in something like cookies or brownies that bake at temps up to 350F the decarb will happen in a very short time. Eating cookies my friend made with raw dry sift keif baked my ass off so for sure they decarbed.

Time X temp = decarb. So if the pot will decarb in 30 - 45 min at 240F it will happen in minutes at 350F. It may not be 100% decarb in something thicker like a brownie but in something thin like cookies it'll be done for sure. Decarbing my oil after extracting happens in about 15 min at 250F so a lot of it has already decarbed during the extraction process when I distill the solvent off to reclaim the solvent.

A lot of good stuff is lost when decarbing bud in the oven prior to making oils. If making budder don't add water to the butter until the pot has cooked in it and the temp raised to 250 where you can observe the bubbles from the decarb stop then cool below 212F/100C before adding some water and mix vigorously for a while to get the goop out of the butter to go into the water then cool and take the budder off.

It's not critical to do a perfect decarb and that's not going to happen for your average home user in the first place. Close enough is generally good enough for our needs.

One year for Turkey day I decided to make a batch of stuffing with some herb. Don't remember much other than than the weed wasn't decarbed. We followed the recipe to the letter. Damn good stuffing!

The way my mother taught me how to tell whether brownies or cake or muffins are done is to stick a toothpick into whatever you are baking and if it comes out wet, it's not done. Sometimes the difference between wet and dry is only a minute or two.

If you want the edible to be strong you need to decarb it first...then infuse it into the oil (for a less weed tasting edible) or grind decarbed buds into baked goods etc.

Baking weed in a recipe will not fully decarb the material. The oil is an insulator with regard to temps and it does not work right...at all.

Ardent FX.....FILL....push button....wait.....pour 3 cups of coco oil on top...push button...wait.... S A F coconut oil.

4 oz buds to 3 cups oil. I use my trim to make RSO.

When I make oil .. I use a crock pot, I've never decarbed anything in 20 years. The crackpot decarbs the product before you even separate the oil and plant material long before cooking anything.

I don't decarb, i just put hash into the oil or butter in a jar with a loose lid. Place that jar in a pot of water and lightly boil for 20 minutes, then barely simmer for about 90 minutes.

I've done comparison tests, decarbing does not make a difference for me with hash. If anything I loose some thc to evaporation during decarb
