You know as well as I do that I meant the return-customer discount was above and beyond whatever the current prices were listed at.
The two go hand in hand. Money doesn't materialize out of thin air. A company can charge more, then offer a discount on subsequent purchases. Or, they can spread the discount across all purchases.

That's why it doesn't make sense that you want the discount applied to the prices that don't warrant "return customer discounts." And, at the same time, you don't want the discount applied to the original "return customer" prices which the discount was based upon.

This isn't so much psychology but logic. Ultimately, the discount you want would come out of every customer's pocket because today's pricing has the discount build into it.

I've suggested some of us could take up a collection and give you the $50 out of our pockets, but you don't want to do that. However, in reality, that's exactly what you're asking for. You just want it to come out of more people's pockets. A general overhead cost to be recovered from what everyone pays.

You're still getting well over $50 off from the original price that you paid long time ago.

Would you feel better if the prices were raised $50, so you can put in a coupon code just to take it back off?

The very reason the coupon codes were dropped and applied to everyone, because new customers knew they could get the light for at least $50 cheaper, and many, many people asked for it. Instead of having hundreds of people emailing asking for the coupon code, it is easier just to lower the price for everyone. Since buying power increased on A51's end, there is no need to charge what was charged last year or the year before.

And if you ever expected a light for $350, it won't ever happen, just for the record, NO ONE, not even A51 gets them for $350.

I think I'll raise the prices to $1'000'000, and make a coupon code for $999'580 off...

Also, about me being the "boogyman", I kinda like that. In reality though, the A51 customer list is in the 2000s, and there's been maybe 5 people that got sent home with no light.

And no, I do not run a business in a van down by the river, that's just asinine. There's a warehouse in Nile, MI. There's a 2500sq ft workshop in WV on my 12 acres of land. The lights ship from Niles because it is faster and more centrally located than the mountains where I live.

Anything else?
You don't answer emails, but you're on a weed forum responding like a clown to a person that spent money with your company and has a legit complaint? Nice. The day will come when someone else will do what you do and do it with courtesy. Trust me. You have a hot commodity for the moment…

Tell that to the car dealer the next time you buy a new car.
What you're arguing would be like going to a dealership, settling on free oil changes for the life of your car (and any subsequent car you buy), then complaining that the dealership changed, making themselves more appealing by simply giving free oil changes to anyone who buys a car.

Instead of giving and taking here and there to get that deal, it's just baked into the starting price listed on the sticker.

You, undoubtedly, would complain the next time you buy a car: "But I have this deal the last time I bought a car! I don't care that you're giving it to everyone now! You weren't then! I demand twice the oil changes or you'll rue the day!!!!!!"

Do you really feel good about being that person?

I answered your email, with an explanation. You responded with the question again. We responded with the same answer again. You sent another email asking the same question again, you were ignored.

Calling me names will get you nowhere. It is childish, immature, and shows who you really are. Accusing me of running my business in a van will also get you nowhere. Are you trying to cry to the point that I give you $50?

Matter of a fact, fuck $50. Shoot us an email, and I'll Paypal you $100 just to shut the fuck up.

I saw it coming! Good job, tstick. You've become #6 in the "no light for you" category.

For good reason, from what I've seen.

On the one hand, I think it would be better if Jeff would just toss out those Benjamins as soon as he finds himself dealing with you guys. But, I think there's something to be said for distinguishing himself this way.

He could theme his site with the Soup Nazi. Play up the whole "No BS, just straight lights. Don't like it, 'No light for you!'"

Guys like you complaining would be like free advertising.

What names? "…responding like a clown"? Wow! Yeah! "The Soup Nazi of LEDS"? I didn't call you that. I just reiterated it. I thought it was funny!

Listen, buddy (don't count that as a 'name'! lol!)…I no longer give a shit what you and your company do because I'm done with ya! You can take the money and wipe your ass with it for all I care.

I'm #6 on the shitlist, now? I don't get to buy anymore lights from you -even if I changed my mind? Awww! Gee whiz! :(

I'm sure this episode will be an ongoing example of how A51 is different. A51 is different in more substantive ways. But, occasionally the conversation turns toward how Jeff (proverbially) doesn't suffer fools lightly. This episode will be a good example.

The correlation is to someone buying a new car, negotiating free oil changes on the next car they buy, and then learning when they buy their next car that every buyer gets free oil changes.

If you wouldn't be happy with that change in business you should have negotiated cash at the time of your first purchase. Not complaining that everyone's getting what you bargained for.

So, yes, I'm sure this will be talked about. I'm done trying to convince you. Just letting you know how it will be presented going forward.
