that seed looks premature, at harvest any seeds should be brown. however it could be that this seed just happen to mature late. make sure your letting your plants flower for long enough. another thing is trim that outside leaf off as much as you can without cutting into the bud. your bud will look much nicer. save this leave though, it is much better than normal leaf because of the crystals on it. but you want to remove it because any leaf will make it harsher and it's not as potent as the pistols. also never dry your weed with any kind of heat. you need to let it dry on its own. if you need a quick dry remember, the smaller the buds, the faster they will dry. what you could do is cut a bud into a bunch of smaller pieces and let them sit out on a desk for a piece of paper. it may be ready to smoke the next day. since the bud is in smaller pieces, it gets a lot more even air flow making it dry much faster. no heat is being used which is what destroys thc in all these quick dry methods. a few key things will determine how potent a plant will be. strain or genetics is one. make sure you know what you are growing otherwise you risk growing garbage or males. garbage in = garbage out. if you want a serious grow, don't use bag seeds from commercial. dont get me wrong, you can grow excellent stuff from commercial bag seeds, but if your just starting out, why risk it. another factor in potency is environment or how its grown. dont use cheap equipment, its cheap for a reason. so many stoners like to try and save money but the thing is, you get what you pay for. get equipment from a reputable source like HTG Supply, it's by far worth the investment. again, you can grow good dope with cheap equipment, but cheap things break easy and are not made to last. you want something reliable. you want equipment that actually performs as good as the claims. if your using cheap soil, shitty lighting, your plants will not be able to reach their full potential. also make sure they are mature enough but not too mature. wait until trichromes start turning amber. usually at this point most of the hairs will have turned red but other factors like strain can effect this. and remember, sativas normally take longer than indicas. and finally drying/curing greatly effects potency as well. any kind of speed dry method using heat is an instant fail. that heat is destroying your precious thc. let time be the dryer. then after drying start curing in glass jars. however some growers like to combine drying and curing into a single process which is fine. there really is no wrong way to do it as long as you get satisfactory results, however there are ways of doing it that are better than others. i find it more of an experimenting process. personally i just sorta do what i read and add my own little twist. over time change things, kinda experiment. then soon you will be the teacher. hope this info helps and good luck next time!
