Anyways hello
I used to Clone with Rock wool, i've built Bubble Cloners
They worked But what i found is the simplest sure way of Cloning is Water with the Stems Dipped in Cloning gel
Well anyways maybe this seems kinda lame but.
I collect the paper Coffee Cups thrown out at work. Then I Get the plastic Tops and Cut a hole in them. This supports the Plant and keeps the stem in the water.
The cups are Placed on A germination mat.
My success rate is 100%

My method is similar...

I dip in rooting gel, then stick cuttings in cups filled with potting soil. Water soil.
Place in gallon ziplock baggy to hold moisture in.
Wait til' roots fill the bottom of cup and transplant, takes about 2 weeks

But you get actual results. Terms doesn't grow anything and he has a 100% success rate at it.

Lol, Yeah... It's the only way I clone anymore, read the process in a magazine some years back...

I had to reread his post, I guess I missed the irony of it all...

I've never used the powders, I use Clonex gel and get great results. And if you don't use a baggie, you have to make sure to keep the soil moist, but I never lose a clone the way I do it...

As long as the leaves stay moist, they shouldn't wilt any. They have no roots yet, so the leaves are it's only source of water. the bag acts like a humidity dome keeping the leaves wet.

I take my cuttings and put in a glass of water overnight. Next day dip in cloning powder(Shultzs)and place in a cup of soaking wet medium. Roots or not the stem can still absorb some moisture, I mean it did while stuck in the glass of water. Stick them a foot or so under a T-12 shop light, no dome or bags, and a few weeks later they are ready for transplant. I may need to mist them for a day or so but that depends on strain, relative humidity ect.....I would say 95% success rate....

Do you guys scrape the stem at all? I saw some people do it that way.
I dont personally. A none invasive way of accomplishing the same thing is to make up a quart or water with just a few drops of bleach. Dip your cutting in it for 45 seconds or so then procede. No need to scrape, for lack of a better term, you just gave your cuttings a chemical peel......
