By chance was the driver that died ever mounted on top of heat sinks? Or did it run really hot for extended period over time?

Just wondering as I heard someone else ( different forum ) had a Meanwell HLG go dead and it was the driver that was on top of a heat sink for some time.

fyi my hlg 240h c2100a drivers ( 260 kit ) are too hot to touch more than 5-8 secs when cranked to 290W ( at the wall ). At 250W I can hold onto. I know these drivers are made to take a beating. As soon as I point a fan on these they cool down. Perhaps keeping them cool would prolong the life.

I finally got around to replacing the 240H-C2100b that has been driving my QB 304 boards. The 240 was a substitute for a 320H-C2800b that died some months ago. I was given a 320H-2800a as a replacement ( through a dealer, not warranty ). I figured today was a good day as my Sugar Black Rose are in pre-flower stretch. Ladies are looking good!

All mine are mounted remotely. Yes if you run them to the max, they get hot! I'm planning to mount some 140mm fans over them.

This girl is a Blueberry Auto. Nice looking little plant in a 4L pot. I decided yesterday to pollinate a couple buds with pollen from my male Herijuana lol. Just pollen chucking really but hey, could be an interesting cross! I sprayed hergood with water this morning and putr her back in the tent under a QB 324 V1 running on a 185H-1050b, so about 115-120 watts, and 2 Autocobs running at 55 watts each in a small 32"x32"x60" tent. The is another blueberry in there and some tomatoes and Jalapenos for my garden in a couple weeks if the weather gets better.
I'll get a tent pic tomorrow.

I have seen many reviews with HLG lighting etc and I have always wondered why some are handling/touching/tapping on the chips/boards. There are corrosive oils that come off your fingers. I handle electronics frequently and always handled PCB boards on the edges and preferably grounded. Why touch the chips if if you can avoid easily...

i have two mean well hlg-185h-54A drivers that i would like to run out side of my grow tent to two hlg QB96 V2. what would be the best way to connect the drivers to the leds. i have heard to use wago connectors with two inlets, but what size wire would i use and solid or stranded wire? looking to only run them about 8 feet away from drivers and with the potential to run the drivers at full power during flowering but also run the driver lower during veg.

I use 18 gauge doorbell wire, it's already in a twisted pair

18 gauge solid core wire. Probably grab it at the hardware store in the bulk wire section. most often called thermostat wire.

Been a little bit since I dropped a post. This strain has hit the 4th week of cure and time to
roll some up for Good Friday !

Smell is deep spice with a pungent sweet note. Definitely a full body stone , face heavy feel but somewhat clear headed. Very chill . Tight nugmeat.

Depends on your application. Solid core wires integrity is less affected by corrosion due to less exposed surface area so in an application involving moisture where we are not moving the wires much I would say its preferable. How may times do you see someone strip a stranded wire improperly and some of the strands break off. Its always more ideal to use solid core in a situation where your not moving the wire around in my opinion. There are benefits for using one over the other in different applications not that either won't work in this application. I would just say solid core is more ideal for the application.

OK i'm gonna let you explain this. I'm no electrician but does that only not apply at very high frequencies with large gauges of wire? you are talking about the skin effect i'm assuming? I am not all that familiar with it.
