Religion is dying.
This is truth.

As education and knowledge evolves so does our intelligence as a species. Irrelevant and immature belief in fairy tales is no longer necessary as we now have understanding as to why certain things occur (day/night, storms, earthquakes, viruses, death).

With technology and science where it is and with the power of the internet superstitions, myths, and legends will cease to exist. Think of all of the things you have thought, believed, pondered (things that are NOT religion related) that you googled and found out the real answer to. You are more educated now on that subject and have a better understanding of how that item works. The internet has only been available to the masses for less than 2 decades... Imagine what another 300 years (30 decades) will do.

It can be a little aggravating when talking to those who "believe" because it's very hard for "us" ('non-believers') to comprehend such an illogical and ridiculous belief. Just try to remain calm. Just know that religion will pester us until our lives are through. It is part of the time in which we currently live.

Just keep in mind that these people still make up the majority of the population on the planet. In our life time religion will not die completely but I personally find relief in knowing/believing that my grandchildren's grandchildren's grandchildren may actually get the gift of a religious-free life. I personally feel and believe the world will be a better place as a whole when that day comes.

That's my opinion... Any "believers" can feel free to bash me. I don't really give a shit.

Awesome post. And the reason I do fight back so hard, is because if we are silent, we will make no progress.Even if they are the majority now,we must strive for a time when common sense rules.

Understandable. I feel your points are very valid and hold substantial amounts of education/common sensibility. I guess all my thing was about was the "hostility" part. Trust me, I get like that at times too.

To (i hate to use this term as it can be considered disrespectful) uneducated people a 'hostile atheist' is just more proof that 'athiests' are evil and bad. It solidifies their beliefs that 'believers' are 'good' and 'nonbelievers' are 'bad'. [[Edit: I took out a sentence here because I thought it was too opinionated and could be taken wrongly. Don't want any of the believers to jump down my throat over such a crass generalization. I do apologize]]

Getting too frustrated, and allowing it to show doesn't help with progress. Not trying to tell you how to conduct yourself. You're totally fine doing whatever you want :) Just conversatin'!

Funny thing is, I'm not mad, just terribly blunt.

Time to assert some independence. I would never force my religious views onto my children. I've always been really independent anyway, so I quit going to church at about eight or so, maybe younger. My dad didn't believe in it either, so we stayed home and watched tv,lol.
18,im still living at home and everything so my mom makes me

same here... i knew it was retarded then. i think i already said this, but i never believed in santa clause, easter bunny etc. I was "blessed" with a logical brain

it's very hard though when you feel like you're the only one with logic ... like living in a world with a bunch of idiots :cuss:

afghan#1, how could something (our eye as your suggesting) that is found in nature, be created by something outside of the laws of nature while everything else besides that one thing still falls within the laws of nature? it cant. the eye is already explainable through scientific/physico-chemical terms. a general consensus about a disputed matter only comes about through science, not religion as your saying, and so it doesnt even make sense to use a religious explanation for something thats already been explained through science.

All I would say is God is love...seek that love.

If you say there is no God...you have condemned all those that would listen
