firstly, i don't want your guns. wouldn't want the UK to bare any resemblance to american in that manner, don't get me wrong, the US is my fav holiday destination after HK and china, but i don't want anything to do with your guns.
and secondly, i don't swallow any crap from my government thanks, don't even vvote as they're all a bunhc of wankers, i can happily dis my governemnt, i'll happily accept it's a far from perfect country.
and as to wars, well mostly, they tended, as msot are today, occuring with neighbours, people very close who can easily upset the ballance. that's jsut how humans work, bettering one another, but america, they look at someone elses war and then get involved.
and i don't think they should be banned, as that implies they are already readily available, in which case, as everyone has said, then it's not gonna work, the guns are illegal but they're still out there. but if it's a country where they are not already on every kitchen table, then of course it's gonna semi-work by banning them. i'm not trying to argue that at all, banning them in america plain wouldn't ever work in any small way.
oh, and out of curiosity, every gun lover tells me "well if you're happy to swallow all the crap your governemtn feeds you" well what is this crap and how is it relevant? far as i can tell, i recieve NO crap or anything from the goverment. i grow weed. why would i be spooning with their crap..

i started this thread as i was asked to stop posting in the gun enthusiast thread. it seems to me for a stoner website theres a hell of a lot of people who like to shoot things! lol.
heres my reasons why i think guns should be banned.
1. in 2006 there were 60.000 fatal incidents involving guns in the us. compare that tt the 4.237 that have been killed in iraq in FIVE years it shows if you want to be safe join the army!
2. america has the highest suicide rates in the world. fact. this even includes switzerland where it is legal for assisted suicide. (for this reason many people from over europe go there for a dignified end.)
3. if people have access to guns they shoot if they dont they cant!
4. only 0.8 percent of fatal shootings in america are in self defenc. this makes a mockery of the claim that fire arms are essential for personal safety.
any way this is all my opinion. if anyone else has any reasons feel free to post!

Irresponsible people are going to kill others whether guns ever existed or not. Do we ban knives because we stab each other? No.

and i'll say this just once more, it's a LOT easier to accidentally kill someone with a gun. a knife requires you to make a big action, you can kill someone with a gun simply by pointing to scare, finger slips, that's that, finger slips on a knife, big fucking whooooooo
are you saying that if guns were banned, the US murder rate would be the same, just with knives not guns, course not, it would be crazy lower.

Seriously, an M16, AK47, etc is no different from a standard bolt action aside from being semi-automatic.
California laws regulate that you have to have a smaller magazine than other states, and your gun MUST REQUIRE A TOOL TO UNLOAD THE MAGAZINE.
Funny people want to ban these guns, when so much emphasis is placed on the magazine/ammo.
Why?
Because these "assault rifles" are scary looking.
