That's cool I'm debating weather I want to try a few outdoor again as well. I'm kinda paranoid when it comes to that. I gotta worry about meter readers and nosy neighbors and stuff like that. That's why I decided to just do it indoors but the temptation is always there for a nice fall outdoor harvest.

Well hey good luck to ya and whatever you do.

Peace

Had a read through your journal. Looks great. You certainly have overcome the learning curve.
Thanks LT and Welcome aboard, I'm glad you stopped by to check it out. Don't forget I like to hear criticism if any because it's the only way I'm gonna learn.

thanks dropa for checking out the water filter ... i do believe i've found my next purchase. thanks dmoose for the comment about the EC not rising as the water level drops, i've just done a res change and backed off the nutes. look forward to some pics.

Hello to all my friends. This is day 35 of veg and the last cpl of weeks I've been making some bonehead mistakes. I was feeling really stupid there for a while and wasn't sure if I even wanted to post this but hey I'm a total noob to this indoor grow op I got going on and I'm only gonna get better at my game by learning by my mistakes. The thing is, you all know that I've been having some problems with what seemed to me was nute burn, stunted growth, discolored and curling leaves. So I was browsing the plant problems thread and looking over some sticky's and it finally hit me. What I've been experiencing was nitrogen deficiencies. I've been feeding my plants the same way the whole time with equal parts of flora, micro and bloom and that's only recommended for seedlings going by the GH website. So Monday afternoon I did a total res change and mixed up a fresh batch of nutes rated for growth and the results have been spectacular. They had a growth explosion overnight and they're starting to gain some height and more importantly to me is that they're starting to branch outward and my discolored leaves are finally clearing up. Since the nute change they've been drinking a gallon a day and before I was lucky if they drank a gallon a week. This has been such a great learning experience for me. And to all the noobs out there reading my journal, please don't make the same mistakes I did. It's really important to know what your feeding them and when your feeding it to them.

Anyway on with the show. Here are some fresh pics taken about an hour ago.

You know the drill, tell me what you think whether it's good or bad. No feelings are gonna be hurt here because I've got tough skin and I can take it.:eyesmoke:

Peace.

Hey CB. Yeah I'm really liking the distiller it's working out rather nicely. It's great for growers that have small reservoirs. It might not be so great for people that have large ones. As of now I'll be using at least 10 gallons a week if not a little more. So it's only taking me two days to make a weeks worth of water. I think you will be happy with it if you decide to buy one.

Peace.:eyesmoke:

thanks for the pics, looking good, i'll definately be growing one type next grow, i mean i've got a short but stocky as hell white rhino, then a taller big bang and a monster Hawaiian snow (which i'm about to stare at for ages then try training it down a bit). point is i'll either do all white rhino or all big bang next time depending on which smokes best. with yours dropa you have a great comparison between the four in which to learn. yeah if learning isn't fun it's probally because god has shown up or some twat who thinks he is.

Hey CB. I know for sure that I'm just gonna stick to one strain at a time for all the reasons you just mentioned because I don't want to have the problem of them all growing at different heights and having different needs.

My next grow is still way off but I'm thinking about growing some Northern lights # 5. Here is a description.

Pure Indica
Indoor/Greenhouse

Northern lights # 5 is the state of the art hybrid in cannabis breeding with over 25 years of selected inbreeding. This strain is synonymous with ease of growth, strong hybrid vigor, high yield, low odor, fabulous taste and a super high that has made it the #1 selling strain of all time. Northern Lights # 5 is ideal for all growers especially those who prefer shorter bushy plants and is a perfect strain for smaller indoor growing spaces. Fast finishing time with highly frosted resinous buds. A super smoke!

Height: 3 ft
Flowering Time: 8 weeks
Yield: 2.5 to 3.0 oz per plant

I guess this is the only place where you can find them. So I'm told because someone else turned me on to them. Here is a link if your interested.

yeah, sensi seedbank? i'm a bit confused dropa, the link you posted says 10 seeds $55, yet here http://www.sensiseeds.com/northernlightsxhaze/1p2305.html on sensi website it says 10 seeds 135 euro, and 1 euro = $1.33? big price difference does anyone know if your site is kosher? still they sound lovely if they are genuine, short, tasty and no smell.

i've looked up water distillers in euroland, where i'm based and i can't source one for under $220. how much did you get yours for if you don't mind me asking?

Hey CB I'm not sure if Highgrade-seeds.com is a reputable source, all I can say is the person that told me about it said that's where he gets his from. If I remember right he said it was the only place he could find that shipped them to the United States.

I just checked out sensiseeds and I believe that is a different strain, it's an Indica/Sativa mix NORTHERN LIGHTS #5 X HAZE. It has XHaze in the name. The site I posted a link to say's it's a pure Indica strain.

Now about the distiller. I paid a total of 119 bucks for it but 20 of it was for shipping. I found mine on eBay and researched all the distillers for under a 100 bucks minus the shipping and that make and model seemed to be the best choice for the money it's their new and improved model. Here's a link to it on eBay. I hope you find one in Euroland because this guy only ships to the states.

Peace:eyesmoke:

Thanks LZ. Now that I got my head screwed on straight they're going nuts and they're drinking a gallon everyday and getting big.

I'm not sure about switching them yet. They're finally looking the healthiest they every looked and I'm just enjoying watching them grow before my very eye's. If I had my head out of my ass in the first place I probably would have already switched them. They just started the 6th week of veg, so if they keep responding like they are now, I might switch them by Wednesday. I wanted to try fimming and super cropping but with all the problems I've had in last 3 weeks I just wanted to leave them alone.

Any comments or suggestions. :eyesmoke:

nice pics, they are so tall now. should you chop? well i'm into week 3 of bloom and apart from the dead leaves (mostly on the sativa) i haven't pruned. i'll leave them a few days more then maybe take out a few lower branches on the indicas. dropa i suppose i'm just riding by the seat of my pants on this one. how high do you have your lights above the plants atm?

i can't afford that distiller just yet ... and i really want one

Hey CB what's up dude. should you chop? I'm not sure what you meant by that. Yeah they're getting bigger everyday. I'm finally stoked about my grow op. The lights are roughly 18 inches above the canopy and I''m maintaining 80 deg at plant level.

Did you look on eBay for a distiller and what's the cheapest one you can find in Euroland?

Hey CB if you want, you can post some pics of your ladies in my journal, I don't mind because I want to see what you got going on.

Peace.:eyesmoke:

Hey jalex and welcome to my journal and thanks for your kind words dude. I had been planning this grow room for about a month and reading everything I could get my hands on. I got some ideas from this forum but I mostly already knew what I wanted to do with my room. I originally just wanted a light and a hydro setup and that was it but as I started putting it all together one thing led to another and then another. I figured that if I was gonna do this I wanted to do it right the first time to minimize future problems. So I started collecting more and more equipment. It took me about five weeks to get everything I ordered and get the room set up the way I wanted it. The only thing I had problems with was my room temp and I got a lot of good advice from a fellow member with that. I had to totally rethink the way I vented my room. The other problem was with res temps and I had to break down and by a chiller but I'm so glad I did and it was a good investment. I have some other Idea's I might put into play but it will have to wait till I finished with this grow.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them. I'm still a noob and I'm still learning as I go. The mistakes I make now will only make me better as time goes by.

Peace. :eyesmoke:

hey dropa, yeah i checked the price of distillers to euroland out, cheapest from hong kong $155, the one i liked about $226. haven't got the cash atm, too many bills.

oh soz for not being clearer in my last post, what i meant by "should you chop", you were thinking about topping and trimming and i was saying i'm a few weeks on from you and i haven't trimmed or topped yet. mainly coz i'm tempted leave them and see how they turn out, then try cloning, trimming and topping next time round.

saying that i have thinned out a few leaves round the bottom of the white rhino this morning. they are looking good so far and that makes me happy. thanks for the invite to post some pics, i will when my camera stops playing up.

Yeah I was considering the same thing. Seeing that I'm pretty new to all this stuff. I'd like to see how they do on their own the first time around and then get into the fimming and super cropping during my next grow.

Right now I'm just enjoying the ride. My plants are going crazy right now :hump: and I'm sure come Wednesday I'll be switching to flower. I can't wait.:weed:

Peace.
