DWC Root Slime Cure aka How to Breed Beneficial Microbes

First of all I'd like to say hello to all, and a massive thank you to Sir Heisenberg

I've been following this post for about four months and I believe I have learnt a lot, however after reading it twice (yes the whole thing) i'm just slightly disappointed that people keep posting about H2O2 or cleaning with bleach and all sorts of other stuff, apart from being in conjunction with the benes. This is where the misconception comes from where people are finding it hard to understand what they should be doing, myself included I found myself buying beneficials and still putting in H2O2 because of reading about somebody having success beating it, as I read on to find out that they had 0 growth after two weeks. Needless to say this killed my plants :-(
The good Information that is in this thread is absolutely priceless, but some of it will require a lot less then a 400 Micron filter in order to get the crap out lol
Four example the guy who had been growing 15 years and never had a problem, and said if you're fighting it you've already lost the battle (what a waste) The big question is how did he find this ?
Sorry for the rambling now back to the point of this post

1, thanks to all that has given good information, and of course Sir Heisenberg
2, here are the products I bought for the tea, can someone confirm whether I should be brewing both at the same time? Or just brewed the bacteria.
I used both of them to begin with, however I did not understand the importance of renewing the benes.
Thank you in advance for any good information, also sorry if I came across as aggressive in any way I meant no harm.
Thanks for your time crew

Your plants will actually sense the presense of microbes and send some food down to the roots to feed them, which can appear like a slight slimy coating. Also, if you add too much fungi a slime can appear, but that takes a lot, and also doesn't slow root growth. Sometimes if my tea wasn't filtered enough little pieces of dirt will be floating in it, it doesn't hurt anything but they will eventually stick to the roots, making them appear to have some sort of discoloration, but it's harmless. All of these things are subtle, if you have a thick slime coating the roots then it's not natural.

I am not familiar with rust fungus. Not sure if you are referring to your water or your leaves. The EWC tea will strongly discourage anaerobic organisms, which are the ones that tend to cause problems. Rust fungus sounds like something that comes from your pipes, in which case I would get a UV sterilizer to run in my water for 24 hours before I used it for anything. Once a root mass gets afflicted it is extremely hard to purge. Once infected, the EWC will most likely not work unless you have completely sterilized the roots and all equipment first.

I have no experience with using EWC as a foliar spray, but the trichoderma fungi in the ZHO is reported to have similar effects on foilage as it does in water.

From wikipedia
I sometimes get mold growing on my leaves when I clone in rockwool with a dome. I have always used dutch master Zone as a spray. If I have them sitting in EWC water, I don't want the spray to get in the water, so I instead dunk them upside down into a bowl of Zone.

not sure if it;'s worth continuing...i found this thread perhaps 2 ;late....pineapple kush.....my 1st mistake was not sterilizing the totes ...they had great white roots using hydro rush.....but then the roor rot began....swapped out with clean tote....addedmore hydrorush.....no more brown.....just white slime!.....everything is all droopy.....i have maybe 3-4 weeks left biut it ilooks like it wont ,make ire it...should i cut bait? ....im chasing my tail...been a extra bad year...10th spinal surgery...lost my dad...divorced....lost 1st crop of kush to grief ..2nd to root rot....all i have is mango, super skunk and old skool (hawaian x colombian gold)...are these worth planting?..looking into candy kush, cotton candy, strawberry cough....trying to trat back pain, but i dont always want to be couch locked...need a "up" and a dowmn" ..also some strains give me muscle contractions....some make jme all to clear and the grief / depression makes me cry all night!!....sorry to ramble....

thank you for the thread....i almost put hygrzyme in!!....is it too late to try the tea?....thank you!!!!

I am on the tea band wagon now

I got the dreaded snot, this is my forth grow and the first three were snot free.

I picked up some Myco and cleaned everything and am snot free for 24 hours. Gonna pick up some Ancient Forest tomorrow. I almost bought some Ocean Forest, that would have been a mess, I need to work on reading comprehension

Just to clear up some questions:

I didn't post the above article to suggest that you shouldn't use microbes. I was just trying to point out that they one and only reason to use them in a DWC is to displace root disease. (organics are a completely diff story of course)

I suggest aquashield+ZHO powder because they are the cheapest I have found and still do an excellent job. Pretty much any other product can be substituted, like the sub-b/m, great white, ect. The important things to look for are the trichoderma fungi and the bacillis bacteria. AN microbe products piranha and tarantula, for whatever reason, seem to make the slime 10 times worse, so stay away from those. When it's all said and done, the ancient forest EWC probably already has everything you need, the other stuff is just an extra safeguard.

sorry for the basic question here, but I felt like this is the best place to ask after doing much research and coming across this thread.
Heisenberg and or anyone else out there in the world who has dealt with a similar situation, so i have a 5 gallon dwc bucket w air stones, ready to go, 2nd floor apt, outside temp is usually 70-80 day and 55-65 at night for the next couple months. My question is, can i use your tea brewing method for temps lets say 80-90 degrees daytime and 70-80 night time with out running into problems? Im a beginner who is looking to find a way to dwc with not ideal conditions and without an air conditioner.

thanks for any help.
keep it good

"After a few hours, no more than 12, of soaking in the solution rinse the roots really really well again, prepare a fresh res, and inoculate the res with beneficial microbes. Wait another 12 hours before adding nutes"

ok so at this point, im not adding any tea yet?
