Funny u say that....all I ever used my whole life was a fly rod.....but I can't really fly fish.....native trout streams are usually small hard to get around ..small...well we go catch some minnows and use minnows as bait and w that flimsy rod you can make those minnows dance lol....and the smallest nibble you feel it.....i haven't done ot for a long time till a friend told me I was dumb.....well while he is spooking all the fish...cause they do spook easy (natives)....im standing way back on the bank and just stick the pole out and wham ....ol automatic martin reel..

Lol my neighbors have a huge fish fry every year.....they kinda looked at me funny when I brought them 2 5 gal buckets asking for the heads,guts and bones

Every time we go to the coast, i like to fish off the piers, we'll sit on the piers, crabbing and i'll fish with a rod a reel, there are places down there, that you can go off the side and walk in the bay, i'll fly fish for trout and red fish, have pretty good luck. The bait stand we go to the is a vietnamese lady that supplies me beer and bait, we would always give her the heads and guts. We would start up and big pot for the crabs, and i would cut up the fish for frying right on the pier and eat our hearts out

i know the feeling, got me thinking smoked redfish, with scallops and potatoes. Steamed crab and shrimp with marinara.......

Well I live in bfe....so my mouth watering dish would be some native trout rolled in corn meal...get a 5 gal bucket and get the kids and all the ppl who wanna go and go catch crawl crabs ....get a big ass pot boiling if u wanna do it that way....just make em like mini lobsters....get some melted butter.....fry up some deer meat ....if ur good catch some stock trout and filet them and deep fry them or make them in beer batter....fuck...i swear to god I just drooled a little bit.....no even making that up
