He seems to be deteriorating and his narcissism is taking control since it got the rocket fuel of Twitter. Like Trump winning the presidency, the only thing Twitter did for Elon other than costing him a fortune, is it exposed him for who he was more to the public. They say when you write, you expose who you really are deep inside, intentionally or not. Writing here or on Twitter if you do it enough, is like writing a book about your values and beliefs. Coupled with his actions and past record, it does not paint a very good picture and actions speak louder than words for they are used to lie with too.

Elon seeks statues and glory above wealth, perhaps subconscious parental approval, his is a narcissist and appears to be getting worse. If he had a heart, he would be wiser and spent that 44 billion helping the poorest people in the world or doing some strategic thing for large scale good like Bill Gates. Then he would have both love and approval and would sell even more cars and satellite dishes as a side effect. Instead, Elon choose to blow 44 billion on a vanity project and a half-baked idea that he was gonna control the press and be a power broker like Citizen Cain. He probably spent more on Twitter keeping it afloat and fighting legal battles, the last I heard the richest man alive wasn't paying his rent, much less, other bills and while screwing every Twitter employee in sight, including those he fired. He also has the EU and other international governing bodies with their hands up his ass over regulations. Like Trump he seems to like Putin and XI, even though twitter is banned in both places, still gives them a voice and propaganda outlet for their bots and trolls, while degrading Ukraine in the algorithm and also fucking with starlink by allies.

HE doesn't know much about much. He continually implies that he has a better education than he has, he actually has bachelor degrees in economics and physics...those are a decent grounding, but far from qualifying him as a genius.
It seems to me that his only "genius" is in picking up the work of other people and making it his own, somehow...
