you're right there is not debtors prison in the US. debtor's prisons are prisons where the debtor is locked up for defaulting on PRIVATE DEBT, and he is held until his relatives can pay the debt back. the court's role in debtor's prison is adjudicating whether the civil debt is valid or not, and whether the terms were met.

refusing to pay a debt demanded by the government is a horse of a different colour. anyone who refuses to pay the debts incurred by refusing to pay the "O-tax" will be seeing the inside of a prison cell very shortly.

refusing to pay a tax, fine fee or other government demand for money WILL result in that debt getting bigger and bigger until you are called before a judge and sentenced to jail or even prison for refusing to obey the commands of the court. how is this escaping you? when the courts demand money they can and WILL imprison you for refusing.

pretending otherwise or hiding behind Obamacare's impenetrable texts is patently false. once a court says pay (which they will) you will pay either by a lien against your property, wage garnishment or prison time.
This only affects conservatives. That's the major problem. The liberals own nothing, produce nothing, earn nothing and have nothing to take. They are just giant blood sucking leeches, and they breed like rabbits.

You can't be jailed just for owing taxes.... There must be fraud involved to be thrown in jail. Though the IRS can go through the process to hold on to future refunds, garnish wages, levie accounts and seize assets in order to collect what you owe. Honestly, I think I'd rather be in jail than have all my shit taken. At least I would get three hots and a cot...that's more than what the IRS will leave you after the dry dicking you'll get from them.

actively refusing to pay any fee laid by the courts can and does result in jail time, contempt of court charges, and all manner of bullshit.

thats why i was threatened with 3 months in jail over an $80 parking ticket (which was bullshit toi start with) when the courts lost it, had no original ticket, and no evidence of the original infraction. the judge summarily threw out the original ticket, but then demanded $4300.00 immediately or i could spend 3 months in slam, and pay it when i got out for "willful failure to appear"

the original "debt" was never an issue it was my "willful failure to appear" on a case they never even filed for 7 years that got their panties in a twist. funny thing is, neither I nor my truck were even in san francisco on the day they claim i was illegally parked. I have no evidence to prove it but i was in ventura county that month working in an onion feild.

so sure, you wont be jailed for refusing to get medical insurance, youll get the "O-tax". refusing to pay the "O-tax" wont land you in jail either. refusing to pay the fines for refusing to pay the "O-tax" will definitely get you in deep shit, deep debt to the courts and eventually in deep deep prison. thats how the system works. refuse to submit and the penalties get bigger and bigger till a bench warrant is issued and then your in a triple max slam where youll never see daylight again, and you have to give a jailhouse surgeon 30 menthol Kools to get a surgical shine job on your eyes so you can see who's sneaking up on you in the dark.

Holy shit you guys are funny lol kynes, you CANNOT post OPINION blogs or papers as fact that just backs up our earlier accusations regarding your puking fox facts lol also you guys are free to vote against Obama and all those who seek to enslave you hahahahaha

I will not argue that liens are levied, I will not argue that garnishment is a distinct possibility, I will not argue that debts can get large, I will however ask you to show me more than a hand full of people in prison for failing to pay taxes (not fraud, not evasion).

True they can lock a person up for not paying child support, they do it all the time. I am sure our government can twist something up for people that don't pay the insurance on a family of 5.

3 months in jail for a parking ticket? LOL!

yeah right. what a shitty liar.

and again, if you could go to jail for not paying the tax penalty, you would shove that citation right in my face. but you can't so you make up a nice long-winded tale about parking tickets.

you're a perfect example of: if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.

Good luck to anyone that can convince a liberal that free stuff from the government will be paid with their freedom.
If there's any way for these lazy freeloaders to receive some type of entitlement, they will defend it at all costs.

And there we go, from reasonable conversation to accusations of laziness, and freeloaders - this smear is never very far from the surface for some, now is it? No liberal works, all liberals are shiftless and do nothing but get food stamps and buy new sports shoes with the tremendous payments they get from government largess. And if I mention the billions in corporate welfare and tax breaks for the indulgent wealthy you will say something akin to...."well yeah, I don't like that either". But that isn't what you are pointing out here is it?

This is correct - save a single point, there is a statute of limitations on all taxes owed. If you can get away without paying the IRS a dime on money owed, for 10 years (I think it is 10) you get a big old gimme.

I speak from experience.

A fine is not the same as a tax. So far as I know there is no fine for failure to pay a tax, there may well be a penalty but penalties and interest do not put one in jail either. You seem to be confusing several different things. It is unlikely that anyone will go to jail for failure to pay anything having to do with health care. Contempt of court is not a tax either. This is the same boogie man story that is told over and over again to scare the children.

Child support is considered a wage. It is doubtful that government could long get away with calling anything having to do with the health care structure a "wage". Wages are a different sort of debt because those free marketeers figured they could get away with not paying their workers every now and again.

The funny thing about stereotypes is they're generally true. If you want to prove me wrong, pick some articles out on this forum that a liberal has suggested that did not take from someone else? Not attack the rich or middle class, not looked at socialism and communism as an answer, been reasonable in debate. Even come up with some kind of plan that made sense. Shit gets so far flung with you guys you lose all credibility. When you say shit like an ID is a poll tax you lost the support of most of the nation, because they pretty much think that's a stupid ass comment.

doesn't matter what people think on that issue, we are a constitutional republic, not a democracy. so we have to abide by the constitution.

IDs in my state are $56 free. if someone doesn't have $56, they can't vote?

I wish we had single payer.
Imagine all the people stuck in shitty jobs just because they would have to wait 6 months to get insurance again because they had to start again someplace else.
Imagine all the conservatives that got laid off just like the democrats who would have insurance right now.
Imagine how much easier it would be for employers not to have to worry about the health insurance companies jacking them up every year, and employees who instead of getting treated for an illnessdecide they cannot afford medical care and show up to work spreading their diseases.

To all you people that say health care isnt a right? In a society such as ours not only is it a right. It is the responsilble thing to do.
It only takes one person with TB and no insurance to spread that shit like a wildfire in Colorado

No, I believe we should have a national health care plan well thought out, not a knee jerk last minute bullshit. Romney care (if you dont mind me calling it that) hasn't really proved shit except it can raise premiums. That in its self can send our fragile economy snowballing to hell. All we need is one more thing the fuck with our swaying economy, every time someone farts our stockmarket is all over the place. We have to get some stability and get back to common sense government and build from there.
