Feminized vs Regular seeds

Google the above but in reverse and you will get a note some information from Greenhouse Seeds that fems are as good as reg. seeds. The only way someone can make that statement is if a strain's females can be turned to males at a 100% rate. Correct me if I am wrong.... if I have a success rate of around 30% that means that 70 % females would not grow balls that would cum. That 70% represents 70% of that plants female genetics that are no longer represented in the gene pool. When I first started to grow all I would buy is fem. seeds because I just had a small patch to work with. I will say that fems are less likely to deviate from some given trait that a grower is looking for but given that you are working from a smaller gene pool should that be a surprise. Any body out there grow a strain from both reg. and fem. from the same breeder?

Yes I've grown blueberry regular and blueberry feminized and I have to say the regulars produce stronger plants. Mutation, thin elongated stems, stringy buds, and overall not nearly as much yield from feminized suggestion if you can single out the strongest female from regular seeds and clone her.

So does anybody have any suggestions for me? I am going to grow out some Barneys Farm Pineapple Express. Got six of those bad boys plus a Sweet Seeds auto Black Cream freebie. Other than basic grow instructions... any advice on these auto strains themselves or a critique of the strains themselves?

IMO there's way to much hype about fem seeds in general ........I'd rather drop some natural beans and pick the boys out and know that the females I get are coming from regular seeds ............that's just my opinion But in my specific case I'm able to drop a shitload of seeds at once and usually always get more than enough ladies for myself

I've had much better germination rates and stronger seedlings with reg seeds and I've bought and grown about $2,000 worth of feminized seeds from different breeders. I've never grown an auto but I've got about $1,400 to spend on seeds and I'm considering spending about $1,000 on autos. I hated them when they first came out but they've come a long way in the last 5 years. I'm just getting back in the grow game, I took the last 2 years off but I have about 15 yes of growing under my belt.

i'm kind of lost on this 30% and 70% stuff, i don't understand where you're getting these numbers from.. would you mind breaking it down a bit for me, sorry, i'm a bit slow tonight and i'm not picking up what you're putting down..

i just reread it for about the forth time now, and think i got it, maybe..

are you saying that you've bought fem'ed seeds, and when you tried to reverse the plant(s) grown from said seeds, you could only get 30% of those plants to grow male flowers, which i'd imagine you're planning on collecting the pollen from and making more seeds from?

hmmm this is interesting because I was just assuming that Regular Female plants might grow better buds than Its Fem seed counter part, But what about Hermie plants?

I've grown from Seeds bought online, an bag seed (Side note: the herbies seeds did not make it in my garden) So I'm assuming the bag seed I've had is coming from just a natural Hermie plant that lean more towards the female side, I'm assuming this because these weren't Mexican shawg seeds, The buds didn't seem to suffer any stress an you get about maybe like 2 seeds in a Oz.

of for people who have no interest in breeding and or only have a small space to work in and don't have the space to waste months and months on a plant only for it to turn out a male..
there's absolutely no difference between fem'ed seeds and regular sex seeds, other than fem'ed seeds are something like 99.9% likely to become females rather than 50% 50% from regs..

I've never not had a femmed seed germinate, how could a regular seed possibly be stronger?

months n months ?? only take 5 - 6 weeks to sex from germ literally what 3 weeks of actual veg anyone growing fems is cheating themselfs of actual grow knowledge

^^^^ There are lots of reasons to grow femmed seeds. The biggest one for me is space, secondly is plant counts, thirdly is style of grow. Not sure how I'm losing out on knowledge, explain that a bit more and I may buy some regs. I do think if trying to find cloning stalk or breeding females then regs are better and that is just what others have said.

I've had the same thing happen with DP blueberry which IMO is a mutt now and not a true rep of the blueberry of yore lol. On the other hand I have seen femmed and reg White Russian side by and you could not find or see a difference, its all in the genes IMO. I typically grow femmed seeds for a few reasons, and I think they do have a place in the garden. I dont think its a, one is better than the other, but more of, what suits your needs.

Seems to be a lot of people dissing greenhouse for seeds turning,i have done plenty of there seeds with very few turning on me and the ones that did turn was me pushing them too far week wise,greenhouse get a lot of bad press,mainly through arjon been full of him self calling him self the king of cannabis ext,but they had a lot to do with the femming of seeds and was one of the very first to do it,

I would all ways go with regular seeds,for the reason they can take far more then a fem seed,by this i mean pushing them to there very limits,

To be honest i would advice every single grower new to the scene to start to grow with regular seeds,not fem.
