Feminzed Seeds *Beware*

This post is a warning about feminized seeds.

I have recently purchased a number of packs of feminzed seeds from nirvana-shop and attempted to grow them. My results were scarily disappointing. After germination rates of like 1 out of 5 seeds I found the plants that I did get grew to a height of about 2.5 inches and then wouldn't grow any further. I have never encountered a plant behaving like this before and it leads me to believe that the process used to feminize the seed is actually wrecking the plant.

My grow room officially boycotts these seeds and views them as dangerous tech.

I am suspicious breeders are sending out lower quality regular seeds atm in an effort to change consumers onto feminized products. Lets try to make some noise and stop this madness.

im sorry to hear. I have used nothing but feminized seeds since day 1. Out of about 50 i have attempted to Germinate 3 of them have failed. The rest have all grown up to be monsters.
My advice would be to use a breeder who is well known for top feminized seeds, you should never have a problem with them then.

You can grow algae and trim the shit out of a seedling. No wonder it wont grow. Like 99% of seed bitches. Beans are not the problem. Its grower error.............

What brand of aluminum foil do you use to wrap around your wrists and ankles and make your little protective hat out of?

The whole concept of feminzed seeds is that a self pollinating female produces them. This is nonsense. A self pollinating female will only produce regular seeds no matter how you do it.

And in the news it looks as though the industry is trying to fully shift consumers onto this product since a lot of seed sites don't sell regular seeds any more. They think they make better money off feminized. After all they don't use males to pollinate their girls and only sell you half the number at a mark up.

I'm surprised anybody defends this product ?

I had this happen with Nirvana Short Rider. Three out of five fem seeds grew to about 2 inches tall and didn't grow any taller. I'm 6 weeks into growing them and they haven't grown an inch.

this is nonsense. while i don't grow fem seed, it is pure fact that a pollen dropping female is dropping mostly the chromosomes it has to begin with... x chromosomes. this will create a generation of mostly female seeds. some being hermie, and rarely a male will pop up. i don't use fem seeds for risk of herm, but i don't turn down free ones, just keep a close eye

Sorry about your bad luck with Nirvana. But I must tell ya, I have ordered feminised products from Nirvana 3 times and had 100% germ rates and no hermies (so far). The only variables were the different pheno types on each strain...but that can be expected from the extensive crossing and back crossing to achieve the hybrids that we all drool over when we look at the pics at the different seedbanks. Some favorable traits will explode while others will lay dormant, much like crossing genes/DNA in any living thing. Personally, I won't purchase anything other than feminised seeds unless I want to do some breeding and then feminization to get some stock seeds.

We DONT BELIEVE YOU YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE.

stop bashing feminised strains. you either:
got some bad seeds from one company who didnt make them right or they were stored too long (which I doubt)
or

it was growers error. (this seems like the million dollar answer, ding ding) Anyway fem seeds do not produce crappy buds or genetics, in some cases they are great to have. take for example ogrs white s1 or white fire, all who have produced stellar results. although fems are not the ideal plant to breed with, they do offer people that cant get their hands on clone only strains, a chance to get at least a close resemblence of clone only strains.

Also ive grown lots of fems and if femmed right and the plant used did not have a high chance of hermying, then you more than likely will not have a hermy plant unless u stress the shit out of them.

All seeds, strains have their place and person in the world. I have heard tons of people complaining about purple strains not packing enough power or autos not being the right plant, well guess what there may be people who want a purple plant with a high that isnt over powering or a auto because of height restrictions.

Like I said.99% of all complaints against beans has nothing to do with the beans. Its the growers fault. They are just to close minded to admit it. Easier to blame someone else so we fell better about ourselves. The last few generations that have come along hold a HUGE sense of 'entitlement'. Spoiled fucking brats if you ask me........I weep for the future.......

I, too, believe this is "grower fault" and trying to blame someone else....My small collective use 90% fem seeds with no issues....

self pollinating female is called a hermie.... and they have a tendency to produce a vast majority of feminized seeds

Try a different radio station.... tweak the tinfoil
