First Grow Attempt, Input Appreciated!

hello all. i decided i needed a hobby so i collected some bagseeds over time and germed them. This is my first real attempt at a successful grow. A few years ago i threw a seed in a pot of MG and stuck it in a closet with a fan and two cfls. I'm putting more effort into it this go around, but strangely, i think that "dont give a shit" plant looked a little stronger! Eh, anyways heres my setup. Any input throughout my project is welcome and appreciated.

I built a grow box from some spare wood i had laying around. i have a hole in the bottom left corner with a fan blowing air in (ghetto, i know), and a smaller hole at the top right for exhaust. Another fan is inside the box circulating air.

I planted 4 sprouts in 8" pots using FFOF soil, with lava rock at the bottoms for drainage. My plants have been under a 24/0 schedule now for 17 days. So far I've had 7 - 23w daylight CFLs and one 13w 2900 on them constantly, all within two inches of the foliage.

I'm about to put up some pics for your thoughts/suggestions on my little project. I have been noticing for a while now that the leaves seem to curl up a little around the edges, and i have some pretty funky looking mutant leaves where the middle leaf is shorter than the rest, or is tangled around in a strange way. Not really sure whats going on here, or if i should even be worried. My main concern is with how short they are. All of them are only about 3-4 inches tall, and while i know CFLs arent the best light to put them under, i figured they'd be growing a little taller by now. There is hardly any space between the new shoots of leaves.

I just watered them about 10 minutes before i took these pics. I've been watering once every 4-5 days or so. I gave them their first helping of nutes today as well, less than 1/8 tsp of GH floramicro / gal. Dont want to shock them.

Heres the pics.

Leaves almost look like they are burning but the tips are not burnt but are wilted looking sorta not sure but what are you using right now and probably water them daily or every other depending on soil moisture. Also be careful of your PH levels you do not want to get Nute lock. Do you even know what strain that is? that can be important sometimes as some strains like Blue Dream can not take as much nutrient PPM's as say an OG strain can. What is the temp of the room? Do you have any circulation? how long ago did you give them nutrients?

i dont know the strain. I had been searching and searching for seeds till i finally got ahold of 6 or so from the same sack. some decent stuff. I haven't tested pH yet. I need to make a run to the hydro shop this weekend i think. My room stays about 72-75 degrees, and if you look at the grow box you can see the fan in the lower left corner pushing air in through a hole, and inside the box in the top right corner theres another hole. No exhaust fan as of yet, other than the one sitting next to the pots circulating air. I dont have a thermometer inside the box, but i dont think heat is too much of an issue using cfls with circulation.

I've watered them once with nutrients. A small of amount of nutrients. Check out the attached pics. Those are pics of the plant i threw in MG years back. Put it in an enclosed closet with a fan for circulation and only two daylight cfls. Strange how it looks so much healthier than mine today.

Yea those look healthy for sure but to be honest the other plants do not look that great. I just can not remember what that issue may be... What type of soil are you using? Also are you using Tap water or reverse osmosis water? Ph could be a problem there along with nute block possible but not sure though they just look kinda look like a kid with down syndrome. lol joking but I have had that problem once before but was like 8 years ago and Can not remember the issue or outcome. I will try to remember for ya.
