Treez, I added lower pHed water and they curled up like crazy haha. So I'm going to buy some distilled water, add some CalMag and use that for the rest of the water cycles to see how it all goes.

Hey gnslngr, thanks for stoppin in man. Both of my setups were inspired by other folk's setups as well--that's what the forums are here for! So feel free pal! When you get that grow set up hook me up with a link so I can follow it.

So another largeish update:

The first picture is of my flower box setup. It was my birthday recently and a friend of mine gave me a huge, fully-rooted Jack Flash clone as a present--he said it's supposedly 6weeks flowering to harvest regardless but we'll see when the time comes. I have the best friends.

The plant was growing all willy-nilly and I just can't have that shit (due to space but partially due to preference) so I tied 'er down.

I also got two more clone cuttings that haven't yet taken root but are doing well: one Blueberry Herijuana and one AK-47, pretty excited about them all.

The next set of pics is a group shot including my little Ice cream baby.

The next two are of Newie. She's picking back up but I gave her a bunch of low PH water and she was super droopy so then I gave her a bunch of high pH water to try and balance it out and she looks exactly the same so I think she may have just been naturally saggin that day and I'll let her dry out before making anymore rash decisions. Look at her main cola all the way to the bottom right. It's hanging on by a thread and so I'm trying to get it to grow back into the pot so it doesn't get too heavy and snap off.

You can see in the next shot that her stem is healing up nicely. It's getting a little bit of color in it and isn't as dry

Roz in the next few pictures is really beefing up. I looked closely today and she's got budsites popping up like crazy under those chunky leaves. I'd try to tie them down but she HATES being LST'd, pretty much every time I've every tried to tie a fan leaf down it snaps and I have to be extremely gentle when I tie that main cola down because I'd be pissed if it snapped.

Heres a couple of shots of the Jack Flash after having some time to perk up. Seems to have taken well to the transplant and I think I saw a little bit of new growth today.

The last two pics are of the little Ice Cream baby. She's just-a coastin' along

Also, thinking it may be heat stress, I've turned the plant away from the light just to see how the leaves fare.

Do you know how hot its getting at the top of the canopies? Also I think the distilled water is a good idea for now!

No clue Mr. Treez, but it may very well be overwatering. At the rate I'm going it HAS to be overwatering haha. So I'm letting that one dry out nice and neat before I jump to any more conclusions and the pretty girl better perk right back up or papa will be sad.

H&P....went through your whole grow...nice going! I guess we are caught up at this point. I have some seeds ordered that should be here Saturday or first of next week. Then it is off to the races!! I have tried 2 grows already but the temps have been to high!! eeek! I am hoping that this go around will be better! The seeds are femned so hopefully no balls... lol I have a couple of ?s..what is LST and why is it done? Also how old was your plants before you went 12/12? I am going to start with CFLs also. Got 3 6500k, 2 5000, 1 4000, and 2 3000.... I have a bigger grow area so I am going to try more light. I am hoping the temps dont get to high thats all. Going to start in Happy Frog then move to Fox Farm Ocean after they get bigger. How do you like the nutes your using? Was going to try Fox Farm Grow Big....its pretty common. Well Im tired so off to bed. I will read your reply tomorrow.

I was you in late September of this year. You are in a good place for answers. These guys, like h&p, Gumball, et., know their shit. I learned all I know thus far from them and speaking with my local hydroponics supplier. I would be careful speaking to the hydro suppliers. They typically want to sell you more than you may actually need to make a sell... their incentive is much different than the guys on here. We all want to help one another. Just that simple. @Easy: Thanks for the kind words bud. Glad you're back in action and can't wait to see how this see treats ya. If I could give one piece of advice it would've been to get more than one seed, maybe 2 or 3, just because I've heard stories of people getting males from femmed seeds. BUT THAT WONT HAPPEN TO YOU, not trying to send any of that negativity your way. Girls girls girls from here on out!

@hudman: Glad to see you're gettin' things working man. I'll answer the questions you've asked but keep it mind this is all based on my understanding of these things from my experience and reading:

Newie was 11 DAYS old and Roz was 6 DAYS old.

Your lighting sounds kinda funky but I'm sure it'll work--make sure you get a digital timer as well. I'm running a veg box 24/0 right now because my digital one is plugged up to the flower box. Ice Cream doesn't seem to mind it but I still wish I could go 18/6.

Invest in a good fan and make sure your intake is twice as big as your exhaust and that your area is as sealed as possible aside from your intake and exhaust for most efficient airflow. I'm still working on sealing but I'm broke as hell and we're just trying to make things work for now haha.

Loving the Happy Frog to Ocean Forest idea. I've been going straight into Ocean Forest but I have to buy more soil soon and will likely being going the Happy Frog to Ocean Forest route as well. I'd also suggest putting some Peat Moss into the mix as well to help with drainage.

Nutes seem to be doing well. I've just been going with light doses of Botanicare Liquid Karma and Pure Blend Organic Bloom and Roz has been loving it. Newie was too until the whole pH deal. So I'll refrain from giving advice on Nutes aside from the usual: Don't feed too early, check pH AFTER you mix (my mistake), and start with small doses to gauge your babies reactions.

I'm stoned and it feels like I wrote a book so I'll stop now. I'll include a small update in a bit.

Ok so here's a small update. Finally got my veg room situated the way I'd like it to be. There's a few tweaks I'd like to make (add another bulb and try to get a stand with holes in it instead of that solid TV to increase airflow) but for now I'm liking it. There's enough room currently for 3 vegging plants like Ice Cream in the red cup, and 2 clones (in the box out of the light).

Speaking of clones, there's a little speck of root coming out of the Blueberry Herijuana clone. It's a bit early to celebrate but I'm adequately stoked.

Also, check out all of the new growth on the Jack Flash. There are pistils popping up and a good amount of good stuff happening deep down in the middle where I split the canopy. So hudsman, to answer your question as to why I LST, that's the reason right there.

Newie's been looking a little better, which is mostly to say she doesn't look any worse but still looks like shit I have faith she'll get better though, baby just needs some time.

And of course Roz is chugging along. After what happened to Newie I'm a little paranoid and think I'll just give both of them straight pHed water with a little CalMag for the next two feedings, just to avoid another plant meltdown.

Gonna transplant little Ice Cream either today or tomorrow so be on the look out for that. Still need to work out a plan for these new plants but I'm thinking she'll be vegging for another 3 or so weeks since I'm in no rush to put anything else in that flower box to the current occupants are prepared to vacate the space.

I got my first growing right now but no camera. Its 11 Days old right now. Pics up soon though.

Great news and bad news.

Bad news first: Newie is dead as a doornail. Tried an emergency transplant into fresh soil but it was too late--I think ultimately the problem was a pH lockout due to haphazardly feeding her nutes because I didn't really know what I was doing.

Oh well, that's ok because check this out: I have a new addition to the family. This time a fully rooted BB Herijuana clone. I popped that baby in the soil and threw it in the veg box--it'll grow along with the Ice Cream I have in there.

I also noticed one of the AK-47 clippings I had started shooting out the beginnings of roots so I threw it in the dirt but it didn't like that plan and started dying so it's back under a plastic dome in the closet.

On to the pictures!

The first pic is a group shot with Ice Cream, Roz, Jack, and BB Herijuana.

The next couple of shots are of Roz. Boy is this girl sturdy! Twice she pulled up the yarn and duct tape from her LST! She's like the Incredible Hulk. Anyhow she's growing around just perfectly and her leaves are healthy as hell and her buds are plumping up. I'll let the pictures do the talking!

The next couple of shots are of the Ice Cream @ just about 2 weeks old. This plant is doing way better than any of the ones I've grown myself from seed so far. I'm really excited about it! I think it's health despite less lighting is due to me not feeding it nutes straight from the start. I'm gonna let it grow up for a bit instead of lsting it right now because I wan't to top it in a few days. I figure I'll top this one in the stylings of Uncle Benny just to see how it goes.

Next up is the BBH clone I got. It had a nice root system when I threw it in the big pot and it looks like it's acclimating well enough. That's about all I can say about that.

Finally we have the current princess of the grow (Roz is too sturdy not to be queen) Jack Flash. More and more pistils are showing every day and the budsites are numerous to say the least. She's gonna be a big one I can already tell which is why I'm not too bummed about Newie dying. I'm going to need all the space I can get for this one. The last pic is upskirt so you all can see what's going on down in there. I need to do some more tying down later today...after I pick up some more duct tape haha.

sorry to hear about newie, but everything else is looking good. when you put them in large pots once they establish roots it obviously slows veg growth while the plants spreads its roots to the larger pot. once you see growth take off you know the roots have either touched the bottom, or are touching a lot of the container walls.

Hey gumz, thanks for the advice! I didn't know that at all, guess that explains why my BB Herijuana hasn't taken off yet!

Don't worry Easy, these new babies are gonna grow with 3x the spirit of Newie!

Everything's been getting pretty stinky lately so I fianlly went out and built a carbon scrubber. Gonna hook it up tomorrow morning and I can't wait to test the results!

I forgot to get an increaser to hook it up to my exhaust so for now it's just sitting next to the box haha. I'll do that today and then once I get a new fan this will be IT as far as mods go to this box for this grow. Then I'll give myself a few days inbetween putting the BB Herijuana and Ice Cream in to take out that stupid aluminum tape and spray the inside white. That'll get rid of the hotspots that keep burning my babies.

Here's some pics of Roz and Jack Flash from today. Roz is getting nice and plump and a lil frosty (that's not just dirt haha), she's still growing though. And I did a few extra ties on Jack today. This for the most part is due to space and me wanting to get her closer to the light. The row of CFLs in the middle of my box are perfect for Jack because of the nodes I tied down there but I kinda fucked up with Roz's planter just because the shape of it limits the positions I can put it in the box. Oh well, it's still a neat little planter.

I finally got a timer so the veg box can get a night cycle. It's going to be time to top Ice Cream pretty soon here. Her 5th node has already started growing and the 6th should be out tomorrow. And it looks like the BBH has finally started to show some new growth but I could just be stoned, I dunno. Either way it's doing great.

Yo H&P! Ladies are looking very nice! That Ice Cream is picture worthy allright! What strain was that? How many bulbs are you running now? Are they all 2700k?

Hey hudman, thanks for stoppin' in bud! The Ice Cream is, well, Ice Cream of course haha. Or at least I'm about 90% sure it's a seed from a bag of Ice Cream I had. Right now I'm runnign 10 26W CFLs and yeah they're all 2700K in the flower room.

So I topped the Ice Cream today and am attempting to clone the top. Let's see how that all goes.

I also connected my carbon scrubber and sealed up all the leaks finally--temps went down about 2-3 degrees, woot. Last pic is of the setup in the closet. Forgive the dirty glass but I never use that shit.
