So there have been some changes since I last posted pics:
-I decided to throw out the bagseed. Its growth was finally starting to kick in and he/she was looking gorgeous, but my trellis netting for the SCROG came in the mail and I was forced to look at the long term future of the plants. There simply isn't enough room for 3 plants. Honestly, I probably would have been better off just growing one, but 3 is definitely too much. And I've said this many times, the smoke from that bag the seed came from was awful. I've read in several places that strain has everything to do with the way a bud smokes, the way it is grown won't significantly improve a poor quality plant. And also, I don't even know if it is male or female! What a pain in the ass to include it in the Scrog and find out it has to be cut out before it pollinates my feminized seeds!
-The Kush and Skunk were transplanted into a window box. Since a scrog grows the plant horizontal, this is an ideal way to increase room for roots while still saving space.

-I had a red spider mite scare! Everyday, I spend some time just staring at my plants, observing the new growth and just enjoying their smell (these are some funky ladies already). Last week I was checking out their leaves when I noticed a couple small red spots on top of them. Come to find out they were a red spider mite. I crushed every single one I could find with my fingers and then looked online for a natural solution that was readily available to me. I am kind of broke right now so it wasn't an option to just go and buy some Neem Oil. I ended up making a solution with soapy water and non-antibacterial soap. I sprayed the leaves pretty thoroughly and then rinsed them off. Have checked them everyday and have not seen a red spider mite since! The downside is that you can see some discoloration on the old growth of the Kush from the soap. I don't know if this is because I sprayed them while they are under the light or what. Looking back I would have instead used an alcohol / water solution or tried to get my temps in the low 70s with high humidity (spider mites can't thrive in this type of environment) but I'd take a few old leaves with spots on them than a potential spider mite infestation any day.
Here is the Kush as she's looking today...she has small white resin spots all over her, the last pic is a close-up in the attempt to show you, although it doesn't do her justice. Also, if you lightly rub the leaves between your fingers, you can smell straight jungle funk!
The skunk didn't suffer the same leaf damage from the soapy water solution as the Kush did, and she also smells pretty great when you rub a leaf between your fingers, but not as pungent as the Kush.
Going over my grow, I've noticed that I haven't mentioned much on my temps or humidity so here is a pic (this is the typical environment in the box):
So overall I am very happy with these girls. They are growing much faster than the bagseed did. The soil is very moist because I made sure to give them a generous amount of water after transplanting them (Cervantes says that you can't over water transplanted plants and should give them a liberal amount). The next watering I am going to introduce them to Fox Farm Big Grow (scrapped the urine project, my diet has been pretty horrendous lately and these babies deserve proper nutrition). Also I introduced them to a 20/4 light cycle yesterday as I have been reading studies which show that 24 hour lights doesn't let the plants grow as fast or yield as much in the end as giving them rest does.
