First Time Home Grower, with questions?

Yes, I got updates Hooah! and some are doing great, check out the attachments for updates but I'm afraid I killed four of my plants by using cheap soil and trying to feed them, they don't seem to be doing anything growing or dying, if they die that will leave me with 14, I still hope I get at least six girls also it would be nice if the six were the ones in the bigger buckets so I wont have to do anymore transplanting, I'd like to put my best girls in the buckets.

I cant wait until I'm able to tell the sex, I so want to try my hand at cloning, I was at the store today and found some rootone and super thrive, super thrive says that it's good for feeding, something like 1 drop per gallon, I'm thinking about using it on at least one of my plants to see the effects, it also says that it's worlds #1 on the package.

Also today I got more 26w cfl's and finished my poor job of a light setup, I wanted to be able to fit all six buckets and I'm hoping that it will work at least until I start flowering, I plan on putting a shit load more lights, there was a sale on 20w cfl's for only 99cents a peice, $1.98 + tax = 40w, I plan on getting a handful of them and those y's to place around the plants as they get taller.

A couple of my plants leaves are getting yellow spots, I don't know what's causing them but I'm thinking it's actually due to under watering because the two plants has gotten a lot less water (by accident) and I haven't seen any noticeable bugs also it couldn't be nute burn because I've been feeding them straight ph'd water, any ideas on the yellowing spots would be appreciated.

Thanks, I plan to get a bunch of them, however I'm having problems with yellowing leaves and desperately needing help diagnosing the problem, I was told once to remove any sick looking plants in case it spreads, should I do so? please see attachments for pictures.

Also I stated last night that I found a sale on some 99 cent bulbs and that they where 20w, well I was wrong they are 23w even better, I'm thinking a shit load of them will do the trick, what do you think?

Any help diagnosing my problem with yellowing on leaves would be very much appreciated.

PLEASE HELP!

Id get 40 watters 2600 lumens. get the best cfls igf you grow to grow with them. 23 watt just isnt enough.

I'd go with the 23 watt's, (10 of them and have 230 watts and 16000 lumens for $10 bucks but with the 40 watters you only get 40 watts and 2600 lumens for $10 bucks)

40w's are damn near 10 bucks where I'm at, wouldn't it be better to get a y and place two 23w's that would be 46w total and I would only be paying 1.99 plus 2 -3 bucks for the y, 5 bucks max still would be cheaper than buying one 42w, now if I get a boat load of y's and 23w's I figure 46w per plant is plenty for vegetation stage. maybe by time I flower I can afford to ad some bigger bulbs.

If my calculations are correct I have around 352w's that total in 4550 lumens of cfl's, if a 400w hps can grow 12 -16 plants, wouldn't I be able to grow at least six plants with around 352w's of cfl?

why am i always a stranger? when do i become a zippo wielding bud god??????????????

Keep posting nonsense like this, you'll be up in rank no time at all, although I wouldn't recommend it as most forums frown on spam to acquire ranking.

I'm almost certain I have enough light right now for the vegetation stage, however I have bigger concerns, I think two of my plants are infected, they are getting yellow rusty looking spots on the leaves and I can't figure out what could be causing it and I need to know if I should remove them in case this issue could spread to the other plants?

Please could somebody check out the attachments and help me determine what could be happing?

LMAO! Ribbet you posted as I was writing my post, thanks for the input, I also thought it to be more logical to get a bunch of the 23w's as it would be cheaper and I'm on a very low budget.

Any help with the yellowing spots on my leaves would be appreciated.

wahtever. less light. i go for the best... im just saying 40 watter will form your colas properly.

Ok attached are some updated pictures of my best plants, my biggest plant is about a month old and is a little over a foot . the other plants are not far behind, I plan on flowering around the second month as I want them to get as big as possible before the next stage.

Please let me know what you think!

keep in mind you total height you have to grow in minus the bucket height plant height and reflectors as the plants will double or quadruple in height when going into flower

if your plants get too tall, bend them. I've snapped mine and had it hanging by a few threads, it still grew. It was an accident, I only meant to bend it, but I did it too hard and it almost snapped off... Now it's got the fattest cola ion the flowering area (that's most likely genetics though), but still, it wasn't really affected.

I was thinking about flowering sooner but I don't want to end up with little stubby plants, I want them to grow as tall as possible, I'm thinking I have plenty of vertical space.

Here are my specs, let me know what you think as far as if I have enough room to veg longer.

Vertical space: 5ft 11 inches

Height of buckets: 9 & hlf inches

Light fixture: approx. 5 inches

I got roughly 5 ft 3 inces to play with.

Additional 2 and & hlf ft if needed, I would be willing to knock out the top shelf but I'm thinking I shouldn't be worried about them getting too tall as I'm growing under cfl's

What do you guys and gals think?

I'm really tempted to start flowering now mostly due to me being inpatient but I would like some more opinions first.

Ok I have six nice looking plants in big buckets to help encourage bigger growth and the rest in smaller containers, originally I was hoping for six girls but now I'm leaning more toward three girls, suppose I do end up with three girls, if I were to start flowering now honestly do you think I would get less of a yield or if I were to wait longer would I get a better of a yield and possibly run out of space, more opinions would be nice.

if you have the space to work with, then i'd definitely let em grow a bit more... i would think that should give you a larger yield.

Well yeah you should get a larger yield with larger plants. Percentage wise I don't know but I'm sure it's always worth it to wait 6 weeks or so until you start to flower. That's what I did and my plants went into flowering about 16-18 inches and now they're about 21 in on flowering day 4. If you have the space use it! You aren't going to run out of space with 6 ft. and your plants are only 1 ft right now. If you vegged 2 more weeks they'll probably be 18-22 in. 24" at the most and will probably grow to between 4-5' tall.

P.S. - Nice lookin' plants!

Thanks for all the information and I think I'm about ready to start flowering because I'm growing inpatient but I'm confused now of what cfl lights are best for flowering, I thought the cool whites were good for vegetation and warm/daylights are better for flowering, could somebody please clarify this for me, because I'm ready to start flowering with what I've got and or ad half & half .. half cool, half warm/daylights.

I WANT SOME XMAS BUDS!!, do you think if I start flowering by the end of next week I would be able to harvest in time for christmas?

I'm still confused on what lights I should ad for the flowering stage, also now I think I'm under watering my plants, first it's over watering and now this, one of my plants is starting to go limp on me, so far in my first grow the watering has been the most difficult for me, please take a look at the following attachments to help determine if this looks like an under water situation or could it be something else? as that's the only plant that started limping like that and I've been watering about the same for all.

I sooo want to start flowering but I would like to get the lights and watering down before I do, any pictures of what cfl lights are recommended for flowering stage would be appreciated, the second picture is one of my other healthy plants, can you see the difference?
