First Time Home Grower, with questions?

Well it's looking like I'm having a few boys so far in this run I've been trying to capture a good enough shot of my preflowers to get more opinions and I've had no luck yet (see attached files) but as I was checking out the camera options I found a video code called compact, so I'm going video crazy and I created a video page, check it out.

Would be disappointing if they all turned out males.

Rgr that, I plan on waiting at least another week, hopefully in the next copule of days though, I'm going to wait until I find out the sex before I start flowering, at least a couple of them, I'm so worried that all will turn out male as they are from bagseed, they are all looking about the same to me only some are bigger than others.

Also I have a question, say I do end up with one girl and the rest boys, since I have never cloned a plant before, would it be wise to practice on a male plant? I wouldn't want to mess up my only girl.

It would be a good idea to practise cloning on your males... when you've never done it before it's difficult to picture it working, so you tend to fail deliberately... make it harder for yourself than it actually is. When I first started cloning I was doing it in cooking containers with a clingfilm lid over the top. I also cloned in soil too. So long as you don't let them dry out, you will be fine... although too wet isn't a good idea either.

Thanks for the advise, I'm going to practice with the males, but I need to know some things first, I plan on doing them in dirt and in some kind of a dome, please take a look at the following images to see if I'm on the right track.

Will this setup work? the dome is a grape container with holes top and bottom, yogurt cups cut in half and a pulsar air pump to pump constant air in, I will be using rootone to induce roots.

It might work... if you covered the holes. How high is the lid? It has to be high enough to accomodate clones.

Clones like a humid atmosphere, a very humid atmosphere. they also like light, IMO. Give them enough light without letting them dry out... clean the lid of your prop' regularly to remove any excess moisture.

Soil, it's going to be difficult to tell when they've rooted. Upward or new growth is not always a sign. You'd be better off using rockwool. That way you can judge what is going wrong, and where much easier.

I used 2 different types of solo cups for my clones, a clear 9 oz cup so I could see root growth and a blue 18 oz cup to block the light, it also has the bottom cut off (the pics don't show this), the clear cups fit perfectly into the blue ones and there only 3" tall and cost 2 bucks. take a look might work 4 U

YES!! and I woke up this morning and found another bitch hidden in the back, I didn't think to check the two smaller plants, sure enough another girl, the funny thing is she's my youngest/smallest and not as healthy as the other girl or suspected males but yet she's growing hair like a Hippie on Reggae On The River concert, any ideas as to why she's maturing faster then the older and healthier ones?

HOOAH!! I'm so happy just need one more girl then I can start the cloning and flowering process.

Crowding plants will stunt them eventually. And yes YOU are right , DON'T bury your stems above their original soil line unless the roots have gotten exposed, then just enough to hide the roots. Buy a growers guide when you get a chance so people don't get away with giving you poor advice. An opinion is just that, but a fact is a fact!!!! Jorge Cervantis deals in facts, so does Ed Rosenthal, trust the experts not the know it alls on this site. VERIFY, VERIFY , VERIFY all advice before applying it. Tag sales and flea markets sell old fixtures cheap. Outdoor HPS floodlights can be gotten there for pennies (I always offer a dollar to start) just remove the housing,reflector and be sure you insulate any exposed wires with high temp silicone (non conductive) and never touch lights while on, the ballast ups the voltage, be careful. You can make sheet metal housing out of scrap and relectors that you paint flat white. A little common sense and you can have good lights for now with little expense til you can afford better. Now, this is what I did and had excellent results and is just my opinion, so research and verify before doing anything. get electrical info from the library or internet and scrap sheetmetal from any air conditioning installers junk pile for free. People can only deal in facts when they know what the facts are. For years Jorge Cervantes claimed that plants could not photosynthesise past 18 hours light... he now acknowledges that 24/0 produces faster growth and maturity.

Anyone can be wrong, and not enough is known about cannabis, or plant life, or even the world for that matter. There are facts, but nobody really knows what they are yet.
