For this we'd be in jail.

Where I live you are allowed to hunt big game from 30 mins before sunrise to 30 mins after sunset. But being a trooper that man ought to be held to a higher standard for verifying his target. I have hunted a LOT in my life and I don't see how in the hell you could mistake ANY dog's tail for a deer. They don't move in the same way, don't look alike, and hell deer tails are a lot higher off the ground. The guy needs his ass beat, you ALWAYS make sure of your target before you pull the trigger. That's why around where I live you always hear stories about bowhunters getting popped with .22s by some young damn squirrel hunter that doesn't know for sure what they are shooting at.
that's how i feel about it. the man makes a living protecting the public with firearms, and gets paid with taxpayer money. he really ought to be able to verify a target before shooting, especially since this isn't something that happens every day and if you or me did it we'd be in a cell.

at the very least he should get a slap about the hunting after dark.

i just LOVE how when a football player fucks up in his personal life we trash him because he's supposed to be a "role model", but what the fuck kind of example are we setting when football players get fines and suspensions but the FUCKING POLICE get everything covered up?

2 other troopah's are in trouble out there. One for domestic assault and running from the cops while intoxicated, and another was caught getting some knob from a hooker and tried to outrun the cops. They teach you in the mandatory hunters safety course to know your target 100% before pulling the trigger. He was probably sighting her up and the muzzle loader went off unintentionally and now he's in deep.
i didn't even think of that but you're right. the state of mass has had an unusually high number of state troopahs in the news lately for some pretty bad looking shit. they are probably trying to do some hardcore damage control.

all the more reason this needs to be addressed. sounds like the mass state troopers are out of control. sounds like there's a culture of a lack of leadership and consequence in the department.

That's the way of the road alas. Just look at the UK summer riots, they started because a police officer in an organised stop and search shot his colleage and shot dead the suspect, and then tried to say the suspect had shot the police officer, tried to cover it all up,worst thing that happened was the officer had a review or some bollocks. As you say, if we look at celebrities and football stars as role models, surely the police should be regarded as veritable saints, but no, they give us reason after reason to hold noit a shred of respect fr them.

they work fine, but without practice, FUCK ERGONOMIC KEYBOARDS!
