This is probably why I would assume he they were thinking alcohol because many people actually do use a beer solution on there yard and gardens. I'm not sure how it worked or if it's been proven scientifically but I've heard of it and seen it work at a friend of mines place. I was just stopping by I know this post is old but felt I would post in the defense of a possible reason for asking. I was gonna ask this too so lmk if anyone's actually tried it since it was posted!
