Germination Process???

i am new to this so excuse the newbie-ness going on. i currently have 2 hash plants germinating in the paper towel method. it has been a week since they have been in a very dark place with 2 paper plates and a wet napkin in between the plates. they are not soaking wet, but just moist. i have seen no progress except the seeds are very englarged. i am thinking they are going to crack soon? that could just be me being optimistic and hopeful.

also, i tried the water method. they have been sitting there for 2 weeks. i put a seed in a shot glass with water until it dropped to the bottom. then planted in some soil/ rock wool in a dixie cup. watered daily with a spray bottle (clean water). i have saran wrap over the top of the cup with 5 small holes in the top for oxygen and to keep moisture. i think i moved the seed to the soil too soon bc i have seen absolutely no progress. no roots, no cracking. my main question is should i keep them in their soiled habitat to root orrrrr should i move back into the shot glass until i see them crack or root then transfer them....

any knowledge, advice is greatly appreciated

Yeah the waiting is the worst. Just wait until it flowers...Oh shit is that the worst.
i guess it just raised some questions with me bc see these forums and people talking them rooting and cracking 1-3 even 2 weeks. i guess i fall in that small statistic of this 2wk waiting process

Yeah some take forever and some crack right away. You just never know.

Ya , leave it in the dirt. Seeds could take up to 2 weeks to sprout. The seeds in the paper towel should pop open real soon if not the they might not ever.

doc, luda- thanks for the reassurance. ill keep a close eye on both batches. i forgot to mention that the dixie cup hash plant with saran wrap over it, they are sitting under a 40watt flourescent light just for the heat. those are not in a completely dark place. does this matter?

old seeds can take up to 3 weeks to sprout.
check the viability of your seeds before planting.

If it's not in soil or some other soilless medium keep it in darkness.
