Get Vegucated

Now you are just being rude and dumb.

That is an opinion and a very dubious one at best. You condescend a lot and don't even know you are doing it.
Is that a byproduct of vegetarianism too?

That is reason number 57 why the studies do not really prove much either way.

So you are giving up and going with condescending douchebaggery?

No, actually, steak is likely covering symptoms... if not, care tell to us what exactly in the steak aids digestion? Meat is harder to digest than plant-based foods.

cannabineer, you said your research has been leading you to eating even more meat. Explain. Don't refer a book and then tell me to go read it, that sounds more of a cop out than anything. Actually explain, for health reasons, why humans should eat meat.

In my case: it's about getting away from carbs. i have eaten far too many refined and grain-sourced carbs, and I don't do fruit. (Even the cute ones who ask real nice.) My diet is tending toward proteins and fats, and in keeping with my heritage (which you deny) the answer is fatty meat. cn

Why don't you eat fruit and what is it about fatty meat? Is this based off personal preference, health reasons, convenience, or what?

Would you like to explain your douchey, condescending opinion about my health?
I do not think you know much about IBS.
If you did, you would know that it is a syndrome and covering up symptoms is the best thing I and most people can do.
I cover up symptoms with marijuana on purpose. Me not having symptoms after eating a steak is just bonus.

Where did I say that steak aids in digestion?
You are making things up to be wrong about now.

It makes some good points... but I also found another study regarding meat and longevity.

http://www.procor.org/research/research_show.htm?doc_id=881353

I can post more studies too, yawn.

your study:
The results of the present study suggest relatively modest increases in all-cause and CVD-related mortality in middle-aged and elderly men and women consuming higher intakes of red and processed meats

Remove the processed meats and you will remove the modest increases. Modest increases can be explained by lifestyle factors other than diet.

I spent many hours a day 7 days a week taking care of these animals.Spend thousands a year on feed & vet care. I am their keeper & do my best to see nothing on this farm suffers in any way. With that said i can not stand PETA or HSUS. I beleive the farmers & ranchers do more good for animal wefare than they both do. An animal has the right to a good life on this earth but thats as far as i can understand animal rights verses animal wefare.

LOL. Is that why Metamucil is a laxative?? We don't digest fiber... the vast majority goes right through us...

One big 'red flag' for veganism as a diet, is that there are no vegan civilizations really in history. So, you think if a diet was successful, it would thrive and populate, but it seems like vegan cultures die off.

Go take down prey like a lion does (something you cant because you lack physical carnivore characteristics), and if you can, eat it raw like the lion and see if you don't get sick.

Go eat a potato raw and see if you get sick.

Hint: you will because raw potatoes are toxic

Does this mean humans are not meant to eat potatoes?

I was wrong and I redact my statement.

who wants dinner!?

When in history was a civilization able to do so?

Why is jtprin being such a douchebag? For the last time stop using words with negative connotation to refer to meat. It detracts from your point and make you look like an asshole. Decaying flesh. Guess what happens to 100% of the food you consume...that's right it decays because it is organic. Vegetable matter decays just like meat. In fact it decays faster. You have not once alluded to dead and decaying plant matter in your belly.

And why do you keep saying things like:

Go take down prey like a lion does (something you cant because you lack physical carnivore characteristics), and if you can, eat it raw like the lion and see if you don't get sick.

Dude why don't you go take down a walnut tree and harvest the walnut meat without any tools. Oh maybe we weren't designed to eat walnuts?

Go take down a potato plant, and if you can, eat it raw and see if you don't get sick.

Go tell those primates that termites should NOT be part of their diet because they are using tools to obtain them, and clearly using any kind of intelligence or tools is unnatural.

I am not vehemently against the consumption of meat. Like I said I used to eat red meat and poultry daily.

It doesn't bother me in the least bit I just choose not to.
