Global Warming? NO SUCH THING!

but yes, i honestly doubt man has the capability to influence the weather or climate on this planet. do you have any idea how enormous this planet is?

When viewed from space, it is not enormous at all. That is the perspective you need to see to understand the dillema. Being as we have no other place to go once we destroy this planet, It might make sense to try and stop the corporations from strip mining and clear cutting as well as many other destructive endeavors by all of mankind. Now think about this, Will you agree that trees have an influence on the weather. It's Been proven that the sahara desert was once a land of greenery, now it is a wasteland, much as So. America will be if we dont stop the clearcutting of forests. It doesn't rain in the Sahara, at least not enough to measure, could that be from the lack of greenery? There are too many unknowns to rule out mans contribution to any of the destructive trends in the weather or global warming. and many reputable real scientists and climatologists say yes, man's contributing. Most on your side have an agenda and can't really offer proof it's not true. My agenda is to enlighten people. I will not make one thin dime. All I'm trying to do is to get people to look at what a wonderful planet we have, and to get them interested in making it liveable for my grandchildrens grandchildren and beyond. we must change our lifestyles. Example: local fishermen across the globe in poor countries that once relied upon fishing to support their families cant make a living fishing because the corporate fishing fleets have decimated the fisheries, IE no fish to catch, I'm talking many thousands of starving poor fishermen. There is no governing body on open water and once you wipe out the large schools of open water fish, there will be none left close to shore for local fishermen. We need a moratorium on corporate fishing. Fish from fish farms only, and even these are an ecological disaster. The planet is fucked unless we change our ways. The planet will survive, but we may well not.

THE polar caps on saturn and other planets are melting and shrinking aswell, not to many SUV's there i would imagine. Global warming is being used as a weapon to scare the population into more taxes.

Why do they have to scare us? I think they just tax as they see fit anyway. The thing is, we should not have to pay to clean up the corporations messes. We must take back control of the government, Of this I know not how, but I know it is necessary if we are to survive. The My dicks bigger than your dick thingy is going to annihilate us all.

maybe it seems small because of an optical illusion of sorts, being seen from space. the planet is unbelievably enormous.

just imagine, every interesting place you could ever see...every huge city with millions of people is on LAND. but there are FAR MORE VAST stretches of uninhabited land where the air is clean and undifiled of polution because no one lives there. and even that doesn't compare to the 3/4 of the globe covered by oceans of mostly unpoluted air and water. it is precisely because of its size that the planet can absorb man's impact. do the math of surface area and cubic area of this planets true size and men are tiny fleas on her back. nuclear weapons aside, we CANNOT destroy the earth. we can only scar her. we can elliminate whole species of plant and animal, but the PLANET will scar and then heal. it has, even at nuclear testing sites. (that is not to say we we shouldn't clean her up. we should!)

"we can't offer proof its NOT true." well, scientifically speaking, you can not prove a negative. the people responsible for dreaming up this dooms-day scenerio are the ones who have the burden of proof to demonstrate their theory IS TRUE. and regardless of what has been said, their is no PROOF of a man-made global warming crises. (CO2 may warm the earth, but not to crisis levels). there is only DATA, being interpreted differently by different people.

Damn I forgot I started this topic, well I will just say I transfered it from someone elses thread that didn't want this discussion taking up his grow journal or whatever it was. This is great! I thought it would be a lot more people against my, and a lot of other people's belief that global wrming is made up!. I hate Gore, and this is only one of the reasons I hate him. HotMilf, thank you for actually researching the topic! You have put a lot of valuable info that most of us would have never seen, right in front of our faces and no one can argue with that. Granted a lot of info found on any topic is politically bias, especially when talking of Global Warming. If you really do research though you will be able to tell what is shit and what is real. Politics need to stay the fuck away from decisions that take only common sense. I'm not going to claim Democrats do it all, but they do put most of the nonsense bullshit out there, and Repubs do too. The U.S. is in trouble if we keep handling are issues the best way that suites popiticians. I'm just sick of this shit already. If it gets much worse I'm moving to the UK or some Island and just grow grass and sell it to the US for bank!

Not to belabor a very small point, but from Saturn, the Earth is so small it looks like a piece of dust. You can't even tell it is a planet. It was that picture that caused Sagan to coin the phrase (and write the book): "The Pale Blue Dot".

I seen last night that the ice is melting at 1.1/2 meters a year the last few years in 1990 it was a 1 and a 1/4 inches,
2000 it was 3 1/2 inches with flowing rivers under neath the says if it carry,s on like this the polar caps will be completely gone in the next 3 or 4 decades ,

That sounds like massive change in the last 20 years or has it just been melting all along from day 1 ?

that infomation conflicts with the latest reports that say ice at the poles AND greenland are acually thickening and that the planet hasn't warmed any since 1998.

but even if it is true, the question is: "is MAN causing the melting or is it just the natural changing cycles of the planet's climate?" all evidence supports natural climate variations, fueled by solar activity, are at work.

A thousand years ago Eric the Red colonized Greenland. It was warm enough to grow grain! That was at the last high swing of global temperature. 300 years later there descendants died of cold and malnutrition in the "little ice age" of the 4th century. More atmospheric pollution was produced by Krakatoa than all the coal burnt in the 19th century. We do not affect systems as big as climate as much as we think.

I hope it natural man and not man made because we are to used to are life stills now, 24 hour a day working life style world wide thing will not change if so people are to greedy to make changes
And i hope its natural so my kids and thre future kids have a future here without having to survive through all sorts of extream weather 100x worse than whats going on now or even a smog filled world like china in 20 years imagin
better to be safe than sorry i guess

I wasent to sure on the on the amount they they had the caps defrosting at for sure, i was high while watching but its from inchs to meters in 10 years great white sharks in england dolfines in ireland the scots fish moving to green land

I think its a man made disaster in the making, But then when i think again at some other views i think is the world just been burning out from the start slowly, And was every thing on earth ice at one stage just 1 big ice ball and just been disolving from then ...

I,ll keep a open mind but i still think its better to be safe than sorry , :peace:,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

well, let me put it in perspective for you. the I.P.C.C., the main proponant of AGW, says the warming could be as little 1.4 degrees over the next century and water level could rise as much as 20 cm. considering mean temperatures rose .6 degrees the last century, 1.4 degrees isn't a crisis. it like moving to a slightly warming spot in your country.

everything catastrophic you have heard is from al gore and the media. even a 1.4 degree rise is with in the range of natural variation and you and everyone you know will survive.

and this is not to mention the fact that deaths from exposure to cold temperatures FAR, FAR, FAR outweight deaths from heat. humans and crops do FAR better in warmer weather. if it is true what the I.P.C.C. says, we should be looking forawrd to the next century.

there is no crisis. :peace:

America is the only country that does not believe this is happening and mybe china the reason thats what there country wants them to believe Same as 9/11 the rest of the world thinks it was terrorists use dont they make use believe or just confuse use so you dont no what to believe any more
and i could of checked the net and got them exect numbers my self i just dident .......

the problem is that if every 1 does not try and make changes we will be living in a cloud of smoke,
The ice caps melting is not are only problem with global warming the air pollution can be seen from space when looking at earth with thick smogg
In england there is earth quakes, torrnados, This has never been witnessed as common b4 but it is happening every year now plus england has been getting flooded for the last 4 - 5 summers , How come the ice is melting more that 1.4 meters a year now theres a lot of big changes that we have not wittnessed before, last year was also the wettest from records begain rain we never seen before eather .....

See the problem is not Just that we are getting hotter it comes with a lot more other problems world wide !! Not just in america ,but the two countrys the world needs to take part wont believe its happening china and america its all to do with greed money and that why things are changing in the 1st place ...... and untill they jump on board nothing will change real or fake...

Even if there is not a crisis like u are lead to believe id like to be safe and have the big money making machines cutting down so my grandkids have a future

I dont know why some people act like they know every thing,, ego. pride i dont no . its like they know how the world began and if global warming is fake ect i was taking a view from both sides but u still come back to tell me you no every thing haha

why not just make the changes and see if are world calms down a bit and the chinese people can breath with out gas masks 10 years would be enough time to find out rather than just hope for the best ..........

believe for a future or just carry on being greedy coz well be dead any way when the changes get real bad thats the choice

I understand how some can think every thing is fake its just like that old story the boy who cryed wolf ............
Every thing nearly showing in the u.s is fake your T.V. wrestling gerry springer ect. News fake and tweeked with being told constant lies by your media , and those big fake ass smiles the churchs with people running about like mad men fake wedding for your pets lol ............ u must find it hard to believe any thing
