OK Dinesh, then why did southern conservatives vote overwhelmingly democratic up until the civil rights act of 1964, then switch to republican afterwards?
You seem to be hung up on the labels 'democrat' and 'republican' when the ideologies are much more important. During Lincoln's time, republicans were progressives fighting for equal rights for blacks. The KKK developed as a response to republican progressivism. Then the civil rights movement took place, LBJ and congressional progressives passed the CRA of 1964, then conservative democrats who felt ostracized by their party switched to republican. That's why you see the south go red directly after the 1964 presidential election.
Conservatives - democrats from 1855-1964/republicans ever since - have always been opposed to equal rights. Progressives - republicans from 1855-1964/democrats ever since - have always supported equal rights
And your tacit admission that those that have supported equal rights the entire time are better is an admission that even you know you're wrong and your argument is bullshit, even though you probably won't admit it. Funny thing is, nobody needs your admission of it to know it's true
