to me, if you got mycorrhizae and a plethora of microbes, what do you need mammoth for? That's always been my philosophy. I'm more interested in using things like EM1 because they have a more synergistic relationship with other organisms... meaning those organisms function better in each others presence than separately on their own. I can't say whether or not mammoth p does or doesn't do this... but I'm just not sold on it. I don't think one microbe is worth that kinda money. I'd be interested in a side by side in an organic system though. if you wanna do it... i'm gonna observe
if you listened to the podcast i posted a week ago with dr. allison, she hypothesized that most growers are experiencing positive effects from microbial inoculants (especially in salt based environments) because the microbes consume the extra overfed minerals; thus reducing salinity, lowering plant stress, which results in positive growth response. I'm totally am on board with her hypothesis. I mean think about it, it makes perfect sense. Nutrient companies suggest over applying just about every mineral element. Why? you use more product. she was doing research on phos. levels and found the plant showed no benefit from more than 15ppm (most companies are recommending 150ppm). so she hypothesizes that using things like mammoth p (though not specifically calling them out) would reduce phos in the nutrient solution which results better growth. If you didn't listen to her interview on KISorganics you definitely should. I admire what she's doing.
so that's my two cents... i could be dead ass wrong though
