Health Care Rebate Checks

LMAO. Wrong again.

Grits N' Gravy was portrayed by comedian Eddie Griffin. Tron was, like Leonard Washington, portrayed by Chappelle. Both Tron and Washington are recurring characters. Tron first appears on "Mad Real World", then on the Reparations skit and then finally on the Law and Order skit where the drug dealer is treated like a white collar criminal and the white collar criminal like the street criminal.

None of these characters were with the Haters. The Haters consisted of Silky Johnston, Beautiful and Buck Nasty.

As you can see, I have dedicated numerous hours to the genius that is Chappelle Show.

i bow to your expertise. however i never insinuated that any of the dice players were in The Haters. i proposed invoking Buck Nasty and The Time Haters, mainly so i would have an excuse to godwin the thread with hilter gettin wailed on by street pimps.

people will lose their jobs to cut administrative costs so they don't have to send out checks next year but I'M GETTING MINE SO FU AND YOUR JOB!!

Why do liberals only care about other people's money but not other people's jobs?

I see. So everyone should pay higher costs associated with having health insurance so that insurance companies can market, advertise, sell, promote and administer while not actually providing the services for which they are marketing, advertising, administrating etc etc etc. I'd love to see some statistics on how many jobs are being lost over this.

I also think we ought to stop comparing the healthcare industry to any other for-profit industry. It is unique in that the decisions made directly mean the difference between life and death. Just about every industrialized nation views the health of its citizens as a fundamental right of citizenship. Our healthcare system is broken on a number of levels and I won't sit here and say ACA fixes it, but I would love for someone to say what exactly they don't like about it other than who enacted it.

It's a bit disingenuous to say that liberals do not care about jobs or to broad stroke conservatives with a similarly false premise.

LOL. I loved the Time Haters. The original Haters Ball is probably one of my favorite skits ever. "That of course was beautiful ladies and gentlemen. On weekends, Beautiful does stunts for Little Richard in gay movies" line and "He looka likea Brokea Ass Sexual Chocolate" line will send me to tears everytime!

oh I know, I was just giving UB a little of his own, he's gotten me a few times, it's all in good fun.

Insurance companies are evil and the bane of my existence. The worst that I deal with are caid and care.

I work in the healthcare field and all of your arguments are philosophical and can be debated if you'd like but having said all you said. Why this bill? We gave so many suggestions to lower costs to make it actually affordable. This bill actually increases costs (so many new taxes yet it still doesn't offset the new costs) and further entrenches big pharma, insurance companies and the hospital conglomerates. If the republicans had put forth such a bill they would be accused of crony capitalism and the bill would have been exposed for what it was.

You know we have sick kids in MI that we send to Canada for a cancer drug we are not allowed to give here. I guess it's because Canada is such a 3rd world country with sketchy meds? Meanwhile you MUST purchase American drugs (made in Malaysia) because this bill and the FDA say so.

But hey, you won, that's what's important.

You make a serious mistake in assuming that this is about winning and losing for me. I honestly just would like to see more people with access to healthcare, with medical decisions being made by doctors and insurance companies actually having to honor the contracts for which they accept premium payments. There are a ton of things I do not like about ACA. I don't particularly care for the individual mandate. I don't like the lack of a public option in lieu of a single-payer system. But there are things I like about it. I like that insurance companies cannot drop people for daring to use the coverage they pay for. I like that people cannot be turned down due to a pre-existing condition. I like that parents can keep their kids on their policies for an additional 3 years given how shitty the job market is for young people especially...and yes, I like that Insurance companies have to account for the lions share of premiums they collect.

My politics may slant leftward, but I am no partisan hack. Both Dems and GOP are too much alike for me to feel like anything is a win. This bill in particular had a lot of crap thrown in as part of the normal horse trading that goes on in Washington. Who do you think was looking out for the Insurance and Pharm companies when negotiating this bill? I can tell you who, everyone who received campaign funds from these folks....and that is not limited to either side of the congressional aisle.
