Thanks for all the replies!!
Sorry been away for a while.....
After the last infestation I had, it made me realise the importance of a clean, sterile grow room/s.
I noticed in my passive intake, there was a small piece of netting that had come away.
Maybe they got through this small gap or possibly on my clothing??
Have used a product called kill a mite.
Supposedly kills mites and eggs in one spray!? They do however recommend spraying again 5 days later, which I have not long done.
And all traces of mites and eggs are gone. Or so it seems for now :-?
I’ve fixed the small gap in the netting,
have sprayed all my equipment down in veg room with a light bleach/water solution and have ripped up the old floating floor boards and underlay (not the best flooring for a veg room haha) and now have only concrete flooring.
I am currently in the process of building a decent garage, so I think I’ll grow/flower this lot out and start again from seed....
Just to be safe.
This product seems really good compared with other neem oils etc I have used in the past. Fairly stress free on the plants but time will tell how effective it is I suppose haha.
Thanks again for all your help!
Hydro.
Good luck man, lil bastards are a chore.

Thanks myke,
That’s pretty much what I did, had them dripping in this solution! Thought they’d suffer more stress than what they did!?
They’ve had two dosings of kill a mite so may hit them with something else a couple of times just to be safe.....

I’ve read people having success with dunking in there pools. The chlorine kills them. Some have done it for over 45 minutes without harm to the plant.

Funny you say that Myke, I also do this with the odd res change. Use chlorinated water if roots are starting to turn a light brown. I know for a fact it prevents root rot. But kills all the beneficials at the same time...... good stuff to kill nasties without harming the ladies too much!

ANYONE THAT HAS HAD SPIDERMITES AND ERADICATED THEM, PLEASE HELP!

This is a cry of a desperate man.
I have just discovered while cloning in my veg room that I have spider mites :wall:
These little bastards are my worst fear as I have had them before and after a 6 month battle of getting no where, I ended up culling my perpetual grow, removing any food source and disinfecting both grow rooms, all my equipment, floors, walls etc. and waiting a week before starting all over from seed!

I found rotating through different oils would keep them at bay but never eradicate them. using neem oil, then 2 or 3 days later, white oil, then throw in a hit of perythrium another 2 or 3 days later......

I really don’t want a long standing battle with these guys lol.

Has anyone become victorious over spider mites? And if so, what was your method??
Thanks in advance!!
I showed them a picture of your mom and after that they never reproduced again

Hey Macsnax! How you been?
Yes they are! Just when everything was going sooo well haha. All part of it I suppose
Doing good brotha, rooting for you here with the mites. I know what it's like, keep us updated. Dunking like you mention should work, just remember that they're probably in your media, on the floor, etc. I'd give everything a thorough killing, lol.

Good stuff man!!
Thanks for the support.
One of the reasons I turned to dwc from soil years back was less bugs to worry about. Especially fungus gnats! Don’t have to worry about those bastards anymore haha.
And your right there macsnax, I’ve used a light bleach solution on EVERYTHING. (Was tempted to use it on the plants too haha)
Even ripped out the old flooring.
Unfortunately they have also made it to my flower room
Which would of been from me carrying them in on my clothes etc. from veg room.
Which was nearly inevitable imo.
A bit harder to treat plants in mid flower haha. But I’ll just ride those out till harvest and remove everything, clean everything down before the plants in veg go in.
On the bright side they’ll be monsters!
Last plant I vegged for 2 months in dwc was a chemdawg and I yielded nearly 18 ozs under a 600W. Lol.
Once my new grow area is complete I’ll start fresh from seed so not as bothered now.... but will be a confidence booster if I can eradicate them though lol.

Does anyone use anything as a preventative? (Other than keeping a clean, sterile environment)
Like mighty wash?? Companion plants? Spraying a bit of citronella?

I use ladybugs, i don't usually have them on flowering plants because they get stuck, lol. But I just added some to a batch of flowering plants, I found a couple thrips. My veg plants always have ladybugs though. I make diy food for them, a goggle search will show you lots of household items that you can concoct for their food. The thrips wouldn't have happened, but I left town for a week and knew I needed to order more ladybugs, I got complacent on my IPM. Lol. With the ladybugs if I get bugs, anymore it's my fault.
