Its been over 12hrs and its reading 70rh, did I do it right? Is it off ? Would explain why weed still smoked wet at the time.

This watermelon ultra is a smoker too. Ive chased my tail all over this thread and am not so sure about my methods but have more coming. I guess I will just go based off feel and salt test the caliber before using it. Hopefully it wasnt for nothing.

I just kept opening bag and closing it and now all the kongs krush smokes. Almost smokes in joints. Smell is there. I just dont like the bud and hash, perhaps a early cull is responsible but the low rosin yield just tears it, its gone.

The watermelon ultra dries out to be rock hard my guess from all the resin, espicially the special kind that yields oils. It tastes great, lemon gas. Highly recommend. By attitude usa T.H. seeds. It yields 15% rosin so Im about to grow just that for a while.

The rosin from the watermelon ultra is tastey too.

This thread is the most I can find on the subject.

Oh wow. I put the best nugs which had sat in sandwhich bag opened and closed for durations of time for few days just to speed it up and smoke it. I have a few samples of kongs krush that were older and brittle.

Just smoked a bowl and joint of the brittle which stayed lit, Ive had better smoking joints with buying from people and stores but it smokes. Musky Banana tasting/smelling.

I had the best nugs in a bag that I said ok it should still get a cure, maybe not. It did!!! Its decicious smelling. Candy/berry like a mug!! It smokes in bowl notably different but smokes! It tastes better (berries/candy) and its notably less harsh to what I just had.

No joint sample yet, I quickly put it back to keep curing.

Idk how long it cured, like 1-2 weeks, probably 1.5 weeks. Curing is real!! So are Aliens!!

So yea I just go by feel now, when its snappy and barely smokable in bowls, I jarred. Note to self. Some say hygrometer method can mislead and thats showing true. This would probably bag test at 50rh or so.

Its amazing how many transitions of smell/taste weed goes through from early flower to cured.

Crap, How donyou work around talc from humidifier clogging carbon filter? It looks white around edges and the bathroom smells like weed a little bit.

Isnt ro water going to be more expensive? I refill it pretty frequently. I guess some of yall are right I am pretty sure the talc clogged it, my filters been lasting a long time, my other one in flower tent still works.

Sometimes I hear things I do myself and see no issue with but I guess I had to learn the hard way that tap isnt good for hueys and carbon filters.

Ro or distilled water. The white is mineral buildup from the water leftover after water evaporates. Ro or distilled water will fix that.

Yea I was wondering if any way to make it cheaper or less labor buying distilled water, I didnt think there was any way around it upon thinking about it.

So I just started using ro water from store and not going through it as fast as I thought. It even some how made the weed smell go away a little but could be that the weed is almost dry.

You can pick up a small RO system relatively inexpensive, especially considering driving to and from store and hauling 1 or 5 gallon jugs. I think ingot my 50 gallon setup for around $130 or so on Amazon. It's a 5 filter setup and while not super efficient, it works well and I've never had a buildup issue with my humidifiers.

Only thing Im still wondering is tricks to know when to jar just in time, not too wet or dry. The hygrometer method isnt working unless I try to jar at like 55rh after 12-24 hrs reading.

My hygrometers arent testing right in salt test but they read consistent with dehuey and inkbird rh meter.

And ok, yea I thought id ask, I thought it would be like 2-300$ for a good ro system (The ones I was looking at) because yea hauling all that is alot. I thought I was being lazy but glad its not just me.

I can do the store ro water for now while I save, limited budget for a while. Its lasting ok in a small bathroom.

But the jarring, I just tried to cure watermelon ultra and its too dry, no smell or change in anything. So still trying to get that right. The kongs krush goes from no smell until its under your nose to reaking like candy from a distance. If you opened a bag of sour bite crawlers.

Not just smell, the watermelon is harsh too now that I first compared store bought that didnt burn your throat at all to all my first attempts being harsh but got this last jarring right twice with kongs krush.

It reaks in smell but also smokes smoother already. If I jar too soon I managed to get the smell change but still harsh and wet and wont smoke right. Man this is tricky.

The kongs krush all I did was jar it late as heck giving no care thinking it was the final product to be surprised a couple weeks later.

70rh in jar with salt test after 12 hrs but reads normal when comparing to other meters.
Sounds like your meters are reading low by 5 points at 75% How do your meters that you are assuming are good read with the salt slurry test?

I only tried it once with a used meter, the others are fresh out the box, was going to test them before using them but then read comments that this method is misleading.

Then I tried jarring later and thought going by feel was better. I have a larger batch drying to mess with to try both methods.

I say the method wont work for me or atleast atm, because all my weed was harsh and smoked bad compared to buying it elsewhere I just didnt notice the difference with my own product until I accidently cured a batch not trying.

My guess it was still moisture left to cure and this time with the watermelon, its brittle so not enough to jar.

Maybe also some strains are easier to cure than others. I just jarred more kongs krush that is even later than my first success and its curing, doing the same thing. As if it is beginner frendly.
