Help! whats wrong with my baby!

for that first plant there, if your seeing random tiny white spots, flip the leaf over and look for spider mites. As for the seedling, i've had a few do that to me...never figured out why, try growin it in some plain potting soil. Everybody tries to get all fancy and it does nothing. Strait soil and water for first month. It'll grow fast. Use decent amounts of peralite and vermiculite i your soil mix, it's prootes oxygen in the soil, and good strong root development.. Roots are key to fast growth.

yes yes yes .............

for the seedling acctually yes the stem was a little twisted, so i straightened it out when I changed the soil.

For the other plant, I dont know where it started because it is the clone I got. The leaves arent really twisted. What are shortened petioles or compact nodes?

Shortened petioles are the branches coming from the stem. When you have mites they dont grow very long before the fan leaf.
Shortened nodes are the spacing between the nodes on the stem. If you have mites they will be closer together than normal.

The ripped part of the leaf was there before I got it. Is it possible they had a mite problem before giving me the clone and got rid of it, but didnt mention it to me?

Here's an opinion.....Seriously...THERE"S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR PLANT. It's healthy. Growing like a clone should. Aside from the obvious man handling...if the new growth is comming out next to flawless then your golden. An Magneesium defficency can cause your leaves to develope dead or rusty looking brown spots....but your plants don't really have anything to cause any alarm. JUST LET IT GROW. An expect about 3-4 day delay in growth response with every major stress you put it under, ie; transplants, cloning, excessive pruning. If you've just repotted it, LEAVE THE NUTES OUT for 3-4 weeks. It will not need them. If you must, wait at least 2 weeks. Half strength. Can't stress that enough. When it comes to mites, and i deal with them often....Examine the underside of the 2-3 suspected leaves. Flip em over.....those minute dirts specs, WATCH THEM...close see if they move....I magnifying glass can help identify much easier.....But usually if you have em and your lookin for em, you find em pretty quick. They are not ALL BL:ACK....some are kinda ghosty and clear....gotta be aware of that too....eggs are laid close to center veins of leaf segments. Sometimes tiny microfiber webs can be seen.
