help with choosing what to start with

hey ive been looking around for the best deals for my first grow i found this package at htgsupplys and i seems prety good but i was wondering what you guys would think about it before i go ahead n spend the money

the light set up seems legit it comes with a 2 yr ballest warranty which is good and the only thing is i would probaly upgrade the relfector to a air cooled one

Ya know, I've bought all my lights from them - (2 400w HPS, 4 600w HPS, lots of extras) they're good folk, make mistakes sometimes but have excellent customer service. However - the 400w HPS with hood etc., is around $150 shipped, by itself - so basically you're looking at around $200 for the rest of that stuff. I don't know - I might shop around for the other stuff, if it were me.

The price doesn't seem too bad to get you started. It's got about everything you would need at first. The roll of mylar will really help. The only negative in my opinion is growing in dirt. But, that is just my own personal thing. I grew in dirt for a long time and did just fine.

right right i was actually lookin at that hood n light combo before i saw this package i might as welll go all in and get everything at once but im prob guna make a cart n see what i can do without to save some dough ,,and the of use soil txhomegrown i kno i wana go hydro but its my first grow and im getttin ahead of myself as it is so ill stick to the mud for now but thanks alot guys i apreciate the feedback

I know that switching to hydro was a bit overwhelming at first. But, once you get the basics down it gets a lot easier. Go with what works for you. Dont get pressured into doing something you might not be ready for yet. At least you will be growing, and that is really the only thing that matters. If you shop around you will always come out cheaper thn buying ready made systems. I buy a lot of stuff from these guys.

yeah at first i wanted to go with hydroponics but as i read into this forum everyone said not to do it on your first grow and it didnt really seem to complicated but for now ill stick with soil and prob build a hydro system over the summer to feed the clones off my mother plant that i hope to be growin as soon as i get my ak48 seeds from nirvana
