HLG Saber vs Amare SB800, Wedding cake RDWC

Did some defoliation and tucking today. Hlg side is a little more compact with tighter mode spacing and slightly shorter whereas Amare was nice and easy to tuck/weave since it was taller and slightly more stretchy. Amare side was also more full in filling out the screen, had much bigger fan leaves as well. But geez I hate working under the pink light, better than blurple though.
5.8-6.0ph at 700ppm nutes, upped calmag slightly, 80-83f with 65%rh and 750ppm co2

Nice! Looking good bud!
Not that you don't know but some may not. The Bar-8 has 740nm IR, which doesn't show on the par meter but is important to the plants.
Few questions if you don't mind?.
What's the Sabers Spectrum consist of?
Are they sold individually or as a 4x4 grow light unit? Or a DIY kit?
These girls will fill in quick i bet!
Good work!

Yeah I think that’s why the Amare side is a little more stretchy which is good in my case of scrogging. The sabers I have were the first releases so are pretty much the Rspec spectrum, 3500k white with 660 reds and were purchased individually and put together. Although hlg does offer the sabers in a diy kit now, no frame so they say you must hang each one individually which really sucks.

Clean clean , I’m ready to just fast forward these next 3 months to see the finish line . Hope it’s a flawless run on both sides of the light .

Could be, but could also be all the 630 + 660 too. Mad reds.
And u have the Canna-Spec too right?
I have a SS-C On order patiently waiting for the UVL.
Also hoping to soup up the Elite Proto QB with Enhancements from HLG.

Yes I got the canna spec. Man I wanted to wait for the uv version but they said it’d be awhile. You have an eta on it?

Everything is looking spot on. I had some HGL's (burple) lights. They would keep a plant very short and stocky with tight inter nodal spacing. They had issues when it came to flowering. Recently ran the SE-450 on a light rail and was pleasantly surprised by the results.

Filling in nicely. Amare side is a little more full as said before. Hlg is slightly more compact. The efficiency advantage that HLG has is really showing. I wanted to match PPFD and stay close wattage wise but I couldn’t do that with only 4 bars on the Amare side.

ETA Of 2-3 months.
UVA + B on this puppy. Wicked shows in the spectral graph.

Wazup now? You ran some HydroGrow Poo too?
Where, when, are you ok? Lol! XB-Proto OB or remote driver?
The SE-450 On a light mover woukd kill it. Nice! You say 450 not 500 so its most likely the older model using 3070's instead of the Gen 7 Veros, has 630's instead of the 660's? If so, thats the first one i bought n its still kicking just fine!

No for air flow reasons it will have to be left open. I considered doing two 4x4s but I’d have much better control with one room. So not a true side by side but the 4 farthest plants will be compared against the 4 middle plants as well.

when I did a 2 light comparison in one large tent, I used insulation foam board up to the bottom of each light which allows air circulation above

Yeah, i did the doubled folded PandaWrap 10" suspended feom the ceiling & 4' off the floor (bottom trellis is 3'. Divided well & let air travel.
But hey, whatever man. You'll still see the difference in growth. & he's doing a fine job!
You know MikenIke, you could lower the Bar-8 to even out the efficiencies making up for the removed acrylic on the Sabers.
Its got x3 row of diodes rather then one so the spectral blending works good close as well. The gasget on the glass itself creates a small flat that prevents some light from Shooting sideways. That's why it doesn't blind me like QB's do. The proto blinds me, has an inner 45• angled refector sides that focuses the light aprox 90-100• it's only one row & a yr earlier tech & it throws serious ppfd #'s. Trade off in designs. Lose one thing to gain another.
Also, i wonder how much different are Pre-Production models? Was under the impression it was only the 65k's that were lm561's. Colors are less electricity efficient besides the 660's now. But the trade off in spectrum is worth it as you'll see.
Personally, i need the glass. Come harvest id be jizzing all over the diodes if not. Lol!
Good job!
Nice plants!

I hear ya on the next gen BAR 8. Saving my pennies for one. I got my SE-450 on a light mover. It was a little tough to hang in my 5 x 5. Used it for one grow so far and really liked the results. It really helped on the lower branches.

Just flipped today. Both sides really nice and healthy. If I had to choose a favorite I’d say the Amare side because of the structure, nice branching made it really easy for me to tuck and weave. However the hlg side is equally healthy and using about 10% less watts for the same PPFD. They were both at 650ppfd but I may have got a lockout and had some taco leaves so turned it down, re-did my res and they seem happy now. Will start to ramp things up

Moving along nicely. HW2 you don't get larger pic if you just click on the pic?
I know but then it comes in to big n wont downsize properly, sometimes it won't
even load to be a pic when i click in it.

Were you able to use the lenses on the SE-450? Equetorial or Canna-Spec?
Nice! Id love to have the whole room on light movers.
