Try smoking some Malawi gold and see if you still think that
I ordered some of those, I have germinated well over 50 beans without a problem. ONE of the 5 beans from Holly Smoke germinated for me! Then the fucker was a male! I haven't fucked with any more of their beans, didn't try to germ anymore or germ the freebies! I was highly dissapointed in Holy Smoke and reading these kind of threads just furthers my suspission that H/S is just another BS seed company selling shit seeds!

Well, what's it been another week? Here's what it looks like now.

002.jpg It's definetly started to resinate more. And is starting to produce a better smell.

It's ripening a bit, and crystals are starting to form more heavly. It could be harvestable in about 10 days I think. It still would probably need longer, I'll see how it looks then.

005.jpg You can see the formation of the crystals better in this shot. I happened to see a thread here on Mawlawi Gold. Someone from Australia was growing it. Looked like it took forever to finish. This sort of looks somewhat like it. I figure I'd call this about a 16 week flowering plant if someone asked me. I started this one out very small, as I have grown exotic sativas before, and I know they can go out of control if you let them veg to long. That may account for part of the excessive flowering time. But still this is obviously one of those exotic forever plants. Should be some interesting smoke.

I chopped her yesterday, I cut some trim from the buds and dried it out. then screened it to make some hash. the trim produced more hash then I suspected it would.

This plant could have gone even longer, but I can't wait forever, it should be ripe, or at least pretty good after 16 weeks indoors.

Here's what I think from the hash I smoked. To be honest, it's about in the catagory I thought it would be. No where near as tasty as say the Dinafem I grew out. Not as potent as the Dinafem or the quality either. It has a woody ditchweed flavor pretty much, with a little bit of sweetness to it. It's aroma pretty much matches it's flavor.

I've grown out all kinds of sativas, and I have also bred them to no end. This Thimpu stuff isn't worth growing indoors, there is much better to be had that flowers much more quickly and is easier to grow.

Thanks for the assessment. I have wondered how that stuff was.

My buddy had once grown a haze Dom. Pineapple trainwreck that would NOT finish.

It would just keep stacking and throwing out white pistols.

After 15 weeks, he just cut it down.

Good luck.

Yeah it's definetly a big let down. I was hoping for something special for the long wait. But I was pretty sure that wasn't going to happen.

It's more like a wild animal compared to a domesticated one. You could see using it as a building block, like was originally done. When indoor breeding really started to happen. With the onset of HID lighting, hybridizing and line breeding by humans.

Yeah Williams my associate, he does know what he's talking about, curling leaves do indicate over fertalization. But in this case that probably wasn't the issue, as big sativas tend to eat up the fert.

This has some truth to it also ..I just chopped a foxtaling sativa at 80 ?? Days ..after week 7-8 it looked finished ..I mean frosty small buds ..out of nowhere a shit load of new white hairs popped up ..I mean some buds were swollen orange /pistil calx and other where starting to stack ..I decided to wait a few more days ..last night I had to chop I spotted atleast 10 bananas maybe more started to herm like a mutha lol ..that's another risk of long flowering strains ..

Yep, from my experiences sativas have "windows" that open and close really fast. If you dont catch it in the window, a new growth spurt will hit and you have to wait a few weeks for the next window. I generally miss the first couple because of being unsure. I usually cut sativa around the 3rd window. Not sure if this will make sense to anyone but me, but this is how I do sativas.

The sativas tend to not like much nutrients. Looks over fertilized to me. I've done it to plenty sativa dominant plants. Check out Malberry (or any of the number of companies reselling their stock) seeds at hempdepot for real Malawai.
I'm pretty sure Holy Smokes is a re-seller of Malberry Seeds. And all the re-sellers use the same stolen pics, i.e. Malberry, Holy Smokes, High Grade Seed Company. I know some of the genetics are legit like the Malawi Gold, Mulanje Gold and the Mozambique Poison. The guy Mohican on this site grew out all three of those strains outdoors from Holy Smokes and they were big beautiful potent sativas inspite of the seedbank pictures being stolen. I wish I knew more about growing sativas indoors, but in Hawaii, where I live, most sativas are grown outside. Thanks for the smoke report. It might be a better strain for growing outdoor in the tropics
