yeah i love the box too. i'm not much of a carpenter, nor do i have any carpenter's tools, so carboard makes everything easier. all i need is an exacto knife, some string, and a bunch of duct tape, lol. and yeah man that was a total rookie mistake, no excuse. i got it under control now lol. thanks bro.

in other news, i got a super cheap box today (21" x 24" x 34"-Height). right now the girls are un-housed in the closet, so the box will probably help with smell issues... i'll be setting it up this weekend with stuff i have lying around... if it works, i'll share the details!

and the girls looked amazing today. no pics, but trust me. i gave them a nice feeding of all sorts of stuff... veg nutes, bloom nutes, molasses, ph-up just for the hell of it, lol.

Sorry bro, I didn't get back to you and then had to dig for this lol. I was just saying if you had to you could just tie some branches down in flowering depending on the stretch and the amount of room you have but I'm sure you have it under control

hey TreeZ, no problem dude, and thanks for getting back to me. that's what i figured you meant. for now i think i'm gonna let nature take its course. the plants currently reach about 6 inches from the top of the pot and they have 8-9 more inches they can grow upward before i run out of room in the box (as illustrated in my diagram drawn approximately to scale, lmao).

i think it would be nice to see how tall the colas get by themselves... also, i really can't do the same type of training i've been doing because the box is kinda narrow and they're already pushing against the walls as it is, so we'll see how this goes. of course if they stretch too much i'll re-think that plan . take it easy bro.

one thing i wish i would have told you is a steak knife makes the best tool for cutting the cardboard, sorry. any flat blade cutting tool really doesnt work to good for it.

good to know cd, thanks for the ino. my exacto knife has been working pretty well, but i'll try a steak knife for my next cut -- a circular hole for intake... wish me luck! lol.

Dang Bro I'd love to try some of the sour d, I'm a light weight so I bet it would knock me off my feet haha. Amnesia sounds...interesting how's the smell of it?

i did (what i hope will be) the last lst session because some of those little branches were starting to get a little wild on me. so here's the result, in their new box home



p.s. it's getting hot in that box, high 80s, when it's closed, still working on the intake, should have that ready in the next day or two. for now, i'm keeping the door semi open.

also, quick question: there is some white powdery stuff on some of the leaves, you might be able to tell in 2nd picture of amnesia. is that calcium?

well worth the wait!!! looking great!!!! can you wash the powder off with a spray bottle and a cloth? or is it part of the leaf? all summer long i have to keep my doors open a few inches because of heat... i think i also need an intake for the summer.

lookin good homei... cant tell from the pik, but possibly mildew? my temps stayed in the high 80.s if not low 90.2 in my flowering box.. i think you should be fine... mj is a tough plant...

the white is powdery mildew, to treat mix up some skim/skinny milk in a bottle i use 3parts water to 1 part milk and spray, im trying to find you a link that explains the way the miks bacteria eats up the mildew....its not an old wives tale at all, organic fruit'n'vegie growers use this method and nothing else!!




EDIT: just checked again, and yes that is PM not calcium

thanks arch! the box is working great. it was so easy to build. i think it might be better for vegging than flowering though because there is a bit of "warm cardboard" smell in the room that the true air doesn't quite get rid of. it might have to do with the fact that i didn't totally cover the cardboard walls with white construction paper (only like 80%). i should just get mylar and put another layer of insulation one of these days. ah, but i ramble.

ah thank you man, much appreciated. reading the comments below has me convinced it's mildew and yeah i can wipe it out with my finger. intake is an interesting issue. i'm gonna be setting it up soon. i have two fans i could use, on 6" and one 7". i also got a 2nd trueair for extra exhaust power (like 12 cfm? lol). i also got a 6" to 4" reducer and a 4" to 3", i might see if i can get all the air in through a small 3" hole using both reducers. might work, might create an explosion. only one way to find out.

Hmm...PM is not my friend. I had a little on Shirley before I chopped her, but Laverne remains unscathed. Better nip it in the bud...hehe no pun intended. There are foliar sprays you can use, and sooner is better my friend, seeing as we're in flower right now. And yeah, you're 6 days behind me in 12/12, so that reminds me I might wanna do some preventative PM spraying myself. If Shirley had PM, i'm sure the spores are still around here somewhere. But damn, girlies are looking sweet! Like the nice even growth between the both of 'em. Keep 'em green, brother!

thanks treeZ, i don't think the PM is a huge threat but i figure since it covers some green parts of leaves, they don't absorb as much light, so might as well take care of it now.

I love the lst job you have done, your plants have a bunch of budsites! Also I saw some of that powdery stuff or mildew on my pot. It wasn't on my girl that i could see but around the rim of the pot. Washed right off with some water though. Almost at the end of grow though so I didn't thinkmuch about it
